    Kang Duck-Bong: PVC Pipe Sculptures

    * In which “we manage to survive by hiding ourselves, like taxidermied likenesses.”

You know, these aren’t my taste at all, but the word neat comes to mind, so there’s that. Korean artist Kang Duck Bong created them using PVC pipe and paint, and ultimately I think I just like the idea of them. There are unmistakable shades of, if not direct references to Futurism here, namely Umberto Boccioni’s incredible 1913 sculpture Unique Forms of Continuity in Space, picturedbelow. I guess I’m meant to say that imitation the sincerest form of flattery, but I really don’t think I need to tell you which of the two I prefer.
