Greek and Japanese.

I love this woman.

Good night.

Upon doing research, I found out the music box behind my couch (a Kalliope music box) is circa 1890 - 1910. And it’s still in fantastic condition. It’s so cool.

Calliope/Kalliope

Calliope is said to be the eldest and wisest of the 9 Muses of song, music, and dance. She is also the goddess of eloquence and poetry. She is often seen with a writing tablet or the book of Homer in her hands.

CALLIOPE: Latin form of Greek Kalliope, meaning “beautiful voice.” In mythology, this is the name of the muse of epic poetry.

KALLIOPE (Καλλιόπη): Greek name composed of the elements kallos “beauty” and ops “voice,” hence “beautiful voice.” In mythology, this is the the name of the muse of epic poetry.
