Things you should know....

1) @JustinTrawick, our best local musician if I do say so myself, will be playing in a special “Trio” performance tomorrow (Friday) night at IOTA. In addition to the talented Justin Trawick, the trio will include Josh Himmelsbach on electric bass, mandolin and banjo, and Ben Tufts on drums, washboard, and other various types of percussion. This is one of Justin’s favorite lineups, so go check it out!! See my Justin Trawick review here.

2) Today at Hard Times Cafe: 1/2 off boneless buffalo wings!

3) In honor of National Sandwich Day, Crumbs Bake Shop will be offering $2 PB&J cupcakes all day today. (I’ll personally be celebrating the occasion at Michael Landrum’s new steak and cheese restaurant.)

4) You can now apply for the lottery for your chance to attend the National Tree Lighting Ceremony. The ceremony takes place Thursday, December 1, and the lottery will run until November 7 at 9:59pm. Lottery results will be available on November 10.

“The 9” Songwriter Series, Metro Gallery, Baltimore, MD
I’m excited to be performing for the first time for this popular songwriter series, “The 9.” Founded in 2008 by singer/songwriter Justin Trawick, “The 9 Songwriter Series” is a touring live music event created with the idea that nine artists get together, combine their talents and put on an amazing, rich and varied show. To date, over 100 different artists have participated in “The 9”, at shows in DC, Arlington, Bethesda, Baltimore, Annapolis, Philadelphia, New York, Richmond, Charlottesville, Charlotte, Los Angeles, San Francisco and most recently The Kennedy Center.
Other artists on the 15th include Don Kim, Brandon Walker, Isabel Kret, Matt Hutchison, Katie Fisher, Mark Hopkins, Justin Trawick and Karyn Oliver. (Karyn & I plan to work on a song together for the show!)
Where else can you hear almost 30 songs from nine different great artists for only $10?! See you there!!!

goatFISH opens for Preach Freedom & Connect
Ebenezers Coffeehouse, Washington, DC
Mosno & I met Preach when we opened up for his other band, Rusted Root, in Pennsylvania in May of 2012. We were immediately struck by his peaceful and kind nature (he asked if he was in our way in the dressing room!) and later impressed with his own music.
His style is best described as neo-soul-reggae, with an emphasis on classic R&B and unity. (My own description!) I am more than excited to share the stage with such an eclectic and unique performer and his 7-piece band!
Tickets are just $20 here, hope to see there, DC!
Much love!

Britney Back On The Market?
Britney Spears and Jason Trawick went to splitsville this weekend. I for one am kind of sad for her I really wanted this to work for her. The couple split amicably and issued a statement in People magazine stating :
“Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement,I’ll always adore him, and we will remain great friends.”
Trawick went on to say: ”As this chapter ends for us a new one begins. I love and cherish her and her boys [Sean Preston, 7, and Jayden James, 6], and we will be close forever.”
Not only has Britney split from Jason the pop queen has also left The X FACTOR.
What do you think of the split? Do you want to see Britney get her life back to normal? Do you miss Britney and K-Fed ?
Sound off below or tweet me @princesslondn . And don’t forget to follow me if you like my posts. Once I reach 130 followers I will share what it is like to meet Chace Crawford.

I've been digging this song for a good long while now
Its called Second stop to loneliness, by Justin Trawick. Here’s my favorite part:
I see everybody standing
Single file in the line
Keeping beat with their feet
As they march into the sky
I’ve got an apple in my left hand
And a yoyo in my right
And I walk the dog all through the streets
And all throughout the night
And I see you standing there
With that stupid little smile
And I feel every bone inside my body
Start to tremble with desire
And with a scratch of my chin
And a twitch of my eye
I roll over and keep dreamin
Through the night
Live Show: Amanda Lee Performs @ Artisphere (12/16/2011)
![]()
I have been to so many Amanda Lee shows that I have lost count, but each time I see her, she pulls through a great show. This show is no different at Artisphere in Arlington. To end Amanda’s last show of 2011, she had her husband Posido Vega on bass as usual and a special collaboration with Paul Lee from Rooftop Pursuit on cello. They opened the show for Andy Zipf and headlining act, Justin Trawick.

The 9 Songwriter Show at Iota

I am excited to be playing at IOTA this Tuesday, March 20th as part of Justin Trawick’s “We are the 9” concert series. If you have not seen it before, “The 9” consists of Justin and 8 other songwriters he invites to play in some of the area’s best listening rooms. It is a great chance to see and hear a broad swath of talented writers, and some how I slipped into the line up this Tuesday. Cover is only $10 and if you say “hi” to me at the show, I will give you a CD. I could use the support and I hope to see you there.
