not as much disney as they had in the past. they're technically not even associated with disney anymore. when they signed with hollywood records, that's how it all started. because HR is a disney based record label. but they left HR so it's kinda gone now
exactly, which is completely different than big time rush. although btr is with columbia, big time rush as a boyband didn’t exist before the show. the show created the boyband. the jonas brothers existed as a band on their own before disney gave them a record deal with hr, and then a show a little while later.
jb can get away from too much disney association because they’re not tied to the network right now in any way, but btr can’t - they still have the show, and even if they stop that… what is btr anyway? it’s a fictional boyband in a nickelodeon show, turned into a real boyband. you feel me?
