“The gospel is not a doctrine of the tongue, but of life. It cannot be grasped by reason and memory only, but it is fully understood when it possesses the whole soul and penetrates to the inner recesses of the heart.”

—John Calvin

“Whoever is not satisfied with Christ alone, strives after something beyond absolute perfection.”

—John Calvin

“Instead of the obligation to please Him by holiness and innocence of heart, we put together some kind of worthless nonsense and ceremonies, hoping to keep Him busy.”

—John Calvin - Of the Knowledge of God

“When we know God to be our Father, should we not desire that he be known as such by all? And if we do not have this passion, that all creatures do him homage, is it not a sign that his glory means little to us?”

—John Calvin

“Wherever we see the Word of God purely preached and heard, there a church of God exists, even if it swarms with many faults.” ”

—John Calvin

“..let the author say what he does, instead of attributing to him what we think he ought to say." ”

These are just specific verses, I encourage you to read the chapters as well if you really want to study Calvinism.

Some Calvinists only believe in 3 points, I forgot which ones they leave out, but I don’t see how you can pick and choose from the points. If man is totally depraved, then he can’t choose God. If he can’t choose God, he needs to be chosen by God. If some are chosen by God then that means others aren’t chosen by God. If man was not chosen then God’s irresistible grace was not extended to him. If a man falls out of grace then grace was never extended to him. If it were possible to fall out of grace then God’s will is resistible and Christ died in vain. If God’s will isn’t irresistible then He isn’t God.

“There is not one blade of grass, there is no color in this world that is not intended to make us rejoice. ”

—John Calvin

“He [Christ] is Isaac, the beloved Son of the Father who was offered as a sacrifice, but nevertheless did not succumb to the power of death. He is Jacob the watchful shepherd, who has such great care for the sheep which he guards. He is the good and compassionate brother Joseph, who in his glory was not ashamed to acknowledge his brothers, however lowly and abject their condition. He is the great sacrificer and bishop Melchizedek, who has offered an eternal sacrifice once for all. He is the sovereign lawgiver Moses, writing his law on the tables of our hearts by his Spirit. He is the faithful captain and guide Joshua, to lead us to the Promised Land. He is the victorious and noble king David, bringing by his hand all rebellious power to subjection. He is the magnificent and triumphant king Solomon, governing his kingdom in peace and prosperity. He is the strong and powerful Samson, who by his death has overwhelmed all his enemies.”

—John Calvin

“If Christ is our peace, all who are out of him must be at variance with God. What a beautiful title is this which Christ possesses — the peace between God and men! Let no one who dwells in Christ entertain a doubt that he is reconciled to God.”

—John Calvin, concerning Eph. 2:14
