tumblr(ing)
So … . . getting 30 student blogs up and running is a lot more difficult than I thought it would be. While some of my students already have tumblr accounts, or blog using other platforms, and so had little trouble getting started, many of my freshmen struggled with editing their settings and getting their account up and running.
I assumed this process would be self-evident, but the fact it was not highlights the need for more direct instruction when I do this again in the future. Next time I think I’ll make a screencast of the set-up process for my students to follow as they build their blog. Jing looks to be a good option that’s free. Does anyone have any other suggestions for similar software?
Everyone eventually got their blog established, and as far as I can tell, we’re in good shape to start Monday blogging about those things for which we’re passionate. Fingers crossed.
