Democrat crook Jesse Jackson Jr. and his wife plead guilty to misusing campaign funds "for years."

We reported last week that Jackson spent tens of thousands of dollars on things like celebrity memorabilia and Rolex watches. Today Jesse Jackson Jr. pleaded guilty to misusing almost a million dollars in campaign funds and now faces up to 5 years in prison.
from Politico:
Former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. pleaded guilty in federal court Wednesday morning to charges stemming from the misuse of campaign funds.
“Sir, for years I lived off my campaign,” Jackson Jr. told the judge. “I used money I shouldn’t have used for personal purposes.”
The Chicago Democrat, who appeared somber in court in Washington, D.C., said repeatedly that he was guilty of all of the charges.
“I did those things,” he said more than once, referring to the information provided by the prosecutor.
When asked if he wanted another moment to to consult with his attorneys, Jackson Jr. looked at his father who was seated in the back of the courtroom then turned to the judge.
“I am guilty, your honor,” Jackson Jr. said. “I accept responsibility.”
At 11:12 a.m., the judge officially declared him guilty.
His wife pleaded guilty just a few hours later. Jackson now faces 47-57 months in prison.
Let me remind you that it’s crooks like this who voted Obamacare into place. He’s a criminal, and was stealing his constituents’ money at the time he cast his “aye” for the largest tax increase in history.
It’s time to drain the swamp and throw the rest of the crooks out.
One less rat in the swamp: Jesse Jackson Jr. resigns from Congress

What’s pathetic is that his district voted him back into office by 72% despite him being absent his post for most of the last year.
from the Chicago Tribune:
Rep. Jesse Jackson resigned from Congress Wednesday, saying in a letter that he is cooperating with a federal investigation “into my activities” but blaming his health problems for his decision to step down just two weeks after his re-election.
Jackson’s letter to House Speaker John Boehner was his first acknowledgment of the ongoing corruption probe into his alleged misuse of campaign dollars.
“I am doing my best to address the situation responsibly, cooperate with the investigators, and accept responsibility for my mistakes, for they are my mistakes and mine alone,” Jackson said in the two-page letter dated Nov. 21. “None of us is immune from our share of shortcomings or human frailties and I pray that I will be remembered for what I did right.”
Despite his admission of “my share of mistakes,” Jackson said his deteriorating health was the reason he was quitting. He has been on medical leave since June while receiving treatment for bipolar depression.
Don’t expect his district to vote in anybody better suited for his job. If 72% voted for a guy who’s under Federal investigation for corruption and has been locked away in rehab for the last 6 months, they’ll vote for any other bum with a D next to his name.
