—James Yeager, the man who made the statement above in a video that went viral on youtube earlier this week, just had his gun permit suspended by Tennessee based on a “material likelihood of risk of harm to the public.” Because. Well. He threatened to kill people. Actions have consequences.
Good work, Tennessee.

Tactical Response’s tagline is “We train good people to kill bad people.” Yeager is a former SWAT officer and trains civilians in tactical methods. He also owns a tactical supply shop for “military, police, and armed citizens.” Yeager writes on his company’s Facebook page, “In 2011, I was on the Discovery Channel show ‘One Man Army’ and was featured on the National Geographic documentary ‘Snipers Inc’.”
In other words, he’s a bit scarier than your average unhinged gun fanboy who likes to play pretend. Yeager actually has the know how to follow through on his threat and the materials to do so.
Perhaps it’s time for Tennessee State Police to pay him a polite visit, especially since he says he’s going to kill people if the gun control debate goes “one inch further.”
On the executive order, that’s fear mongering by Matt Drudge and Alex Jones – Congress would have to enact any ban.
Oh, and Mr. Yeager, this is exactly the best argument you could have given for gun control. Thank you.
State Revokes Gun Permit Of CEO Who Threatened To ‘Start Killing People’ If Obama Took Guns
thenewcivilrightsmovement.comThe state of Tennessee has revoked the handgun carry permit of James Yeager, the Tennessee CEO of Tactical Response, after he posted a YouTube video threatening to “start killing people” if Obama’s gun control measures went “one inch further.”
“The number one priority for our department is to ensure the public’s safety. Mr. Yeager’s comments were irresponsible, dangerous, and deserved our immediate attention. Due to our concern, as well as that of law enforcement, his handgun permit was suspended immediately. We have notified Mr. Yeager about the suspension today via e-mail. He will receive an official notification of his suspension through the mail,” Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security Commissioner Bill Gibbons said, according to local NBC affiliate WBIR News.
In his original video, Yeager had said that if Obama strengthened gun control or banned assault weapons, or if President Obama’s gun control “goes one inch further, I’m going to start killing people.”
I posted about James Yeager here. He posted another video talking about his quickly-assembled “army” and backpedaling from the whole killing people statement later, but barely:
Yeager also doubles down on his warnings, claiming thousands of people have contacted him, some asking him what they should do.
“I don’t know, but I did tell you to load your mags, make sure your gun’s clean, and pack a backpack.”
“And all you fair-weather Second Amendment people that are telling me that I’m doing a fucking disservice to the gun community, by saying that I’m not going to stand for the tyranny, fuck you, our country wasn’t founded by fucking fair-weather pussies.”
But then Yeager somewhat changes course, saying, “I don’t condone anyone doing anything rash, I don’t condone anybody committing any felonies, up to and including aggravated assaults, or murders — unless it’s necessary.”
Glad to see Tennessee took notice of this guy. Let’s hope he’s all talk and no action. Much like Alex Jones, he’s one of the best arguments for gun control out there.

Yeager served as police chief of the town of Big Sandy, TN, about a decade ago. The former mayor said Yeager is intelligent and a crack shot, but he thought Yeager’s plan to start a SWAT team wasn’t what the quiet town of 500 people really needed, so the mayor fired him.
Yeager runs Tactical Response, a training center in Camden, TN, that specializes in weapons and tactical skills. The door of the business notes the staff is trained to kill.
Yeah, this is the kind of nut that should be allowed to have a gun and make threats to kill people.
So glad TN pulled suspended his gun carry permit.
How not to seem like a responsible gun owner. Or "James Yeager Syndrome"
The CEO of a company that teaches weapons handling and tactical skills - or “how to be a responsible gun owner” if you will - had his gun permit suspended by the state of Tennessee after he made an online rant in which he threatened an impending civil war and “If it goes one inch further I’m going to start killing people.” And to what were these passionate comments a response? To the suggestion of new gun control legislation that might propose things such as an assault weapons ban and stricter gun control. Not an all out ban on guns. Just a ban on the super duper kill-a-bunch-of-people-fast ones and gaps in the system that allow criminals and whackadoodles to get guns without a background check. But this responsible gun owner who teaches people how to be responsible gun owners says - and, again, this is a direct quote - “Fuck. That.” and “I’m telling you if that happens, it’s going to spark a civil war, and I’ll be glad to fire the first shot.” Noooo, not a problem. Mmm mm. Nothing to see here.
Thank God for Youtube or we wouldn’t have known this walking sack of crazy beans had soooo much access to deadly weapons. Rightfully, the state of Tennessee suspended his gun permit because they found his statements “irresponsible, dangerous”, and a threat to public safety. Requesting a violent coup if someone says you can’t keep combat weapons at home is suddenly a threat to public safety? In UHMURCA?? Say it ain’t so!
Dear all crazy people (whether you are obsessed with guns to the point of threatening/inciting homicide or not): please make poorly tinted YouTube videos to make us aware of your mental state. It seems to be our best screening tool for the time being.
Dear actual responsible gun owners: if you don’t want to be lumped in with batshit people like Yeager, make sure you don’t say things like you will kill people if they come to take your guns. It might sound reasonable in your head, but I promise you when it comes out of your mouth it is drenched in the sweet, viscous jam of complete fucking insanity. And you can’t just shake that off.
