I am sick of teenagers calling themselves “socially awkward” or saying that they have “social anxiety/phobia, just because they think it sounds cute or cool.
I suffor from social anxiety and it’s not fucking cute in any fucking way. I worry about events weeks before I even have to go. There are things that I may really wanna do, but my social anxiety is keeping me back. There are things like buying myself a cup of coffee somewhere that would be a simple thing to do for many, but it’s a huge thing to do for me. Ordering a pizza? Not easy!
Giggling because someone gives you a compliment is not being socially awkard. Dipping your bleached hair in your Staurbucks coffee by accident and saying “wow, I’m so clumsy” does not make you socially awkward either.
Feeling an almost constant fear in social situation where you are scared of being judged by anything you say or do? Now we’re talking.
So fucking stop it you little bitches. It’s not cute or cool. It’s something that many people fight with every day and it’s a pain in the fucking ass.
