In Arabic, the word ذنب is used to describe both a sin and a tail, because they have the same nature: they both follow you wherever you go.

The Arabic language has it’s own philosophy.

The strangest thing I’m thankful for, is how Allah delayed answering some of my prayers. But I am even more grateful that He left some of them unanswered. In His silence, I felt His mercy. In His wisdom, I saw my weakness.

muslim women, i need your help

for all of you who haven’t heard already, attacks on veiled Muslim women are happening in France right now. Actually, one woman miscarried her baby because of the attacks she faced. 

for all of you who can, I am hoping that you can show your support by taking photos of yourself holding a sign or a banner that supports the muslim women facing these hate crimes and condemning the oppressors that continually justify their hatred. 

  • how? you can take a picture with a group of friends, by yourself, or whomsoever you’d like. 
  • what should the sign say? It can say something like, “we support our sisters in France from [insert where you’re from here]” or also like, “stop islamophobia in france!” be creative. be smart. be assertive. 
  • where will these pictures be posted? for now, on my personal blog (this one, and count on people reblogging them). they may also appear on facebook, instagram, and twitter. if you are uncomfortable with that, please do not participate in this.

  • how can i help if i dont want to submit a photo? reblog this (signalboosting) so that your friend who may want to help can.

i am hoping to get public media attention from this. I actually know a few journalists from NBC and my journalism professor from school. I will try to get in contact with them now. we need more media on these hate crimes!

Helping Habibo Beat Cancer

Help Habibo receive treatment at the Mayo Clinic and beat cancer.

This is my mom’s friend, Habibo. I’ve known her for about 8 years now and I’ve only recently found out last month that she has cancer. My mother said she never really wanted anyone to worry about her but now she needs all the help she can get. As you can see on the page the goal is incredibly high to raise compared to what she has now. If you have anything to donate, PLEASE do so. Her two daughters, my close friends are doing everything they can to help their mother. They even moved from Maine to living near the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Wallahi she’s in desperate need right now.

If you can’t pay, please at least make a duaa or a prayer that all goes well, and that she recieves her treatment.
