21st century problemVan Stonholdt
Minimal seems to be the new black but 19 year old Brightonian Van Stonholdt bucks the trend on his most recent effort “21st Century Problem”, amassing layer after layer of live instrumentation which reaches critical mass when a double bass slaughtering each sound bit-by-bit. This may as well be a 21st Century take on Lou Reed’s “Street Hassle”, we can’t wait to see what pop experiments Van Stonholdt comes up with next.
Beat Goes On (Demo)Madonna
Beat Goes On (Demo) | Madonna
Always the bridesmaid, never the bride
Two steps behind, you’ve got too much pride
Always supporting, never the star
Get it together, ‘cause the beat goes on
I got some books from the library the other day.
Principles of Orchestration Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov
Originally published in 1922…good thing music theory and instruments’ sounds haven’t change. Also, this book smells bad.
Unintentional Music: Releasing Your Deepest Creativity Lane Arye
I wasn’t planning on getting any music psychology books but this one seems like it’ll be different from what I’ve read in the past.
Underscore Frank Skinner
Again, not planning on getting a scoring book but this one breaks down orchestration. Some do not.
So anyway, that’s what I’m planning to read on the plane to/from Chicago. Does anyone out there have any other suggestions?
Gorod - Disavow Your God (Solo)
Playing the solo section of Gorod’s Disavow Your God (Track 1, Process of a New Decline). I really like this song. Go buy it. Buy 3 of them.
