A excerpt from Instrumenta...because yes

I have no chance to draw, neither to stay a lot on the Internet lately, so in my spare time I’m writing a lot! I re-wrote a scene with almost all the main characters and tried to translate in English for fun. I would like to know how my prose looks in a different language from the original (Italian) ;)

They spent a quiet dinner. Once Nazim had finished eating, he settled back against the wall to smoke the shisha. By now the guys had become accustomed to the man’s vice, but the most surprising thing was that Aki had ended up sharing his same pleasure.
    Nazim exchanged the shisha pipe with the boy, who brought it to the lips, breathing in a long toke. Now that he was strengthened by a full stomach, Aki seemed much more stress-free.
    «Be careful not to blow the smoke on my face, hedgehog.» Farid muttered,  glowering him. The child made no secret of being bothered by the growing complicity between Aki and Nazim, but his lord, when he did not want to pay attention to something, was very good to ignore it.
    Even Dejanira stared at Aki with a look of disapproval, finding ridiculous the way he boasted about himself with that pipe around.
    «You said you don’t like alcoholics because they ruin the health, and now look the way you’re smoking. Why this exception to the rule, mister strictness?»
    Aki avoided the provocation with stoic detachment.
    «Smoking is relaxing, and does not swell the stomach such as alcohol. No offense to those who enjoy both things.» he said turning towards Nazim. The man shrugged nonchalantly.
    «Oh well, I sin knowing to sin. I’m not the one to be taken as an example. »
    The joke made Yolane open her eyes wide, while Aki let out a grin of approval. When his teacher covered his back, the guy looked like the most satisfied person in the world.
    «However, there are other bigheads filled by too much alcohol.» he said after another toke from the shisha. «Especially those who use it to make gullible women get drunk.»
    Dejanira felt her cheeks inflamed by rage. She knew Aki would have taken a shot at the previous evening, sooner or later.
    «I think the only bighead is you, tonight.»
    «I think you’re a little too nervous, tonight. Could it be because your dandy guy is not around yet? »
    Dejanira gasped: since when Aki had become so explicit? But the thing that annoyed her the most was the allusive way the others looked at her, as if they were all thinking the same thing; especially Kaya, who stared at her with a subtle, provoking smile. Yolane only didn’t react, as she was too busy to get a load of Nazim smoking.
    Yet someone might have listened to her from heaven, Dejanira thought when she saw a figure approaching from the opposite side of the room, one of the few not dressed in the Jazirathi way. Aki noticed that too, and Dejanira felt utterly pleased as soon she realized the guy’s expression had changed into a frown of disgust. 

The young man from Alandalàs stopped in front of them and slightly bowed, focusing on Dejanira especially.
    «Did I interrupt something?» he started off noticing Aki’s fiery look. Dejanira hurried to show a toothy smile. «Oh, no, absolutely. I’m glad you stopped by to visit us again, Rodas.»
    The young man rejoiced and relaxed his coat around the neck, leaning towards Nazim to ask permission to sit between them. Nazim nodded and pointed out one of the free cushions on the ground.
