Innerchrist: Flat Out Heretic

Please stop using the word or claiming to be Catholic. For the record, in no way are you Catholic. Catholic with a capital C means you are part of the Church. The Church is the congregation of all those who profess the faith of Christ, partake of the SAME Sacraments, and are governed by their lawful pastors under ONE visible head (Baltimore Catechism 115, 117). That one visible head is no one other than Our Holy Father the Pope, the Bishop of Rome, the Vicar of Christ on earth and the visible Head of the Church. In NO WAY ARE YOU A FAITHFUL PRACTICING CATHOLIC. People like you rot the Church within, and jeopardize the souls of those obtaining salvation. Christ asks us to turn to Him with pure and contrite hearts, not hold to our sinful desires willingly (while knowingly realizing the gravity of the sin) and live out the Faith.

”He who follows his own ideas in opposition to the direction of his superiors needs no devil to tempt him, for he is a devil to himself.”

-Saint John Climacus

“If you believe what you like in the Gospel, and reject what you don’t like, it is not the Gospel you believe, but yourself.”

-St. Augustine of Hippo

“Confession is an act of honesty and courage - an act of entrusting ourselves, beyond sin, to the mercy of a loving and forgiving God”

- Blessed Pope John Paul II

“That is how Tumblr works. Someone posts lies and uneducated babble, and someone else comes along and reblogs it, adds feedback, and posts it. It’s simply really. If you disagree with how I handled your post, maybe blogger or wordpress would be a better choice for you.”

Innerchrist, the love of my Tumblr life.

Whatever happened to innerchrist?

facebook.com

(title contains link to his fb, which he posted on innerchrist Tumblr before he left)

So, last month the man who claimed God asked him to find an apostolic church, then intended to begin an ashram in New York, famously ranting against all who disagreed with him left Tumblr but kept his fb link there for all his followers to join him. I thought i’d give it a look today out of curiosity.

A month on, who has he become?

Now he is a non-theist who rants about the government constantly and especially Obama. He still fights for LGBT rights but certainly is no longer a believer in Christ or the Christian God, labelling Noah’s flood an act of genocide and denying the concept of God given rights.

How can a man who claims God spoke to him become an someone who believes in no personal God unless he was lying in the first place? He was more than willing to accuse me when I said he was a charlatan so why this change? The man whose fb I see now (anti religion, anti government man) is not the man from a month ago (pseudo Hindu man) and the man from a month ago was not the man from 6 months ago (so called bishop) or a year ago. (Hindu guru)

“Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail.” (Acts 5:38)

It is sad how so many were easily led by his claims… May God have mercy on him.

There is a big difference...

Between saying you are Catholic, and actualybeingCatholic.

We are all sinners, we make mistakes, and that is alright. Sometimes I’ll think ill of someone, and that shows to myself that that isn’t a Christian thing to do. Sometimes I do worse, but the point is that I always try to find my way back to Jesus.

I love all my friends who have different faiths, or lack thereof, because they are good people. Some of them don’t believe in evolution, and I let them believe that, because just because we believe in opposite things doesn’t make either of us bad people.

But if someone is proclaiming to be Catholic, but goes against all the Church’s teachings, or even just most of them, then he or she is not really Catholic. I love everyone, but I do not like hypocrites. I will pray for them and love them the best I can, but in no way will I support them.

It is the same thing as me saying I’m Pro-Life, but I support abortions and euthanasia. Goes against the point, you see?

So, yes, go on and have different beliefs than me. That isn’t the problem anyways. The problem lies where you say you are something, but do the things that go against what you’re claiming to be.

James aka innerchrist you tick me off so much because so much is wrong with everything you teach. I'm sorrowful for you and your followers, because you're so close but so far from the Truth. I'll be praying!

Yeah, I realized that after I sent the question ^^; are a ton of the Tumblr Catholics just... following any liberal, pro-choice blogs so they can argue or something? I know Niko and his followers were harassing a lot of people a while back, but...

I have a Tumblr Catholic priest following me and he’s amazing.  He’s a pro-choice priest and is very pro-feminism and pro-glbt rights.  Everyone should follow him and support him since he keeps getting shit  from Catholic teens on Tumblr.

innerchrist.tumblr.com

And I have no idea why anti-choice blogs follow pro-choice blogs, because I certainly won’t follow them back.

MAAB transgender individuals are not men, so your argument falls on its face there. You're a disgrace to equality, claiming to support women but only supporting those with uteri. Please educate yourself. Namaste.

You’re a disgrace to humanity, rejecting reality, and fabricating delusions to comfort yourself and others falsely.

I support those who have been oppressed as a condition of having their uterus (and all that comes with being an actual woman), and I am a beacon of feminism so your argument holds no weight, swine. You, a man, knowing nothing of what it is to be a woman have no relevant thought or opinion on feminism. Your points mean nothing of importance, your opinion has been conceived through a distorted world perspective. (That of a conditioned man.)

You know how Christians say I hope you find Christ? Well, I hope you find reality and I hope that reality crushes your fragile psyche.

FYI, if an MAAB or intersex trans-woman is sexually attracted to women, exclusively, then she is a lesbian. FAAB's don't own lesbianism, or even womanhood. Namaste.

We’re gonna disagree on this.

I could stand an intersex person using the word dyke, or even classing themselves as a lesbian. MAAB- aka males, who are attracted to females, and call themselves dykes are appropriating a slur and therefore very disrespectful. Even calling themselves a lesbian is problematic because the term lesbian is not synonymous with heterosexuality in any form.

Just as well, who are you- a man, to comment on womanhood? You’re an outside observer of what it means to be a woman, therefore have only an outside sexist opinion.

Response to innerchrist

innerchrist:

I honestly don’t care what you deny. You’re a bigot. You don’t get to [tell] anyone whether or not the[y] actually love. That’s pathetic and disgusting.

So gay people don’t love each other. Lovely. Yet another presumably heterosexual conservative attempting to tell gay people how gay people feel, much like a white person would comment on what it’s like to be black or a man on how labor feels.

If you read the entirely of my post on what love is, you’ll notice that I define love as something you do, not something you passively feel.  I am totally fine with the notion that gay or lesbian couples feel genuine affection for each other and seek to make each other happy, often in a self-sacrificial way.  So they do serve each other for things that they interpret as being good, but, to the extent that their use of sex is contrary to the revealed will of God for human interactions, they don’t seek each other’s Good because the Good is only found in God.  And by this definition of love, they do not love.

I would also say that heterosexual couples who have sex outside of marriage are committing unloving acts against each other, and they do not love each other if they do not encourage each other to seek out God and a deeper relationship with Him, or at least want this relationship with God for each other (since active encouragement is not always necessary or practical.)  Similarly, I can conceive of gay Christian couples who seek to follow Jesus but are confused about what that means in relation to their sexuality, so while they do love each other in some areas of their lives, they commit unloving acts against each other in other areas.  I refuse to put homosexuality on a pedestal as a worse sexual sin than heterosexual fornication, since both are against what God made sex for.

If this is bigotry, then Bible-believing Christianity is bigotry and I’m a bigot, but I don’t think it’s a particularly good definition of bigotry.

Namaste. Don't let them get you down. As you know, I don't support the act of abortion, but I respect the legal choice to have one. What you are doing, in supporting the right of a person with a uterus to have autonomy over their body, is right. Keep it up and be blessed.

Thank you for the support. :)

Hey, everybody! I’m not too crazy about religious blogs (or religion for that matter), but innerchrist runs a pretty swell blog and preaches love. He’s pro-woman, pro-equality, pro-environment, and pro-animal rights.

However, the Tumblr Catholic Community isn’t too happy about that. So maybe drop off a bit of love in his inbox, considering most people are being ass holes right now.

Bonus: He openly admits that making abortion illegal would kill more people and would never infringe upon another’s right to choose.

Cool, right?

-Alex

innerchrist, please don't pray for us!

And for the love of God, please stop posting under the Catholic tag because I love Catholicism, but reading a litany on my dash to drown out your heresy is tiresome business.

I've just found my new favorite blog.

innerchrist.tumblr.com

I hope to be at their level someday.

Seriously.

This is what I aspire to. To achieve this level of faith and understanding while still yearning to learn more.

Guh.

Spiritual crush?

I can’t even explain.

Expect a bajillion reblogs.

Sorry I’m not sorry.

Why do you seem to think it's so wrong for Innerchrist to have different beliefs than the majority of Catholics do? "Different" does not equal "bad" or "wrong," you know. And it's not like you can prove that your interpretation of the Bible and the Catechism is more correct than Innerchrist's. So why not step down off of your pedestal and learn to accept the fact that he could be right about his beliefs, and you could be wrong about yours? Is that really asking too much of you?

I don’t think it’s wrong that James believes something different than I do as a Catholic. Every other religion besides Catholicism believes something different than I do and I have no problem with them. What irks me about James’ beliefs is that he claims to be a priest, a representative of the Catholic Church (not just Roman Catholic, but Eastern Rite Catholics and even Eastern Orthodox Christians, who are catholic as well) and directly opposes every doctrine and dogma declared as authoritative. His faith is true and I admire him very much as my brother in Christ, but his teachings are flawed and his viewpoints contradict what is explicitly stated in both the Bible and in Apostolic tradition, something that the ancient churches which he claims to emulate both accepted.

Grace be with you.

And I officially feel dumb.

Definitely didn’t read that Innerchrist post well enough.

I’m just frustrated with him in general, and as soon as I read a heresy, even if it’s not his…

Sorry for that.
