  • On 2 September 2011, Dwight Howard and about 100 of his fans planked in Beijing, China. [21][22]

Mistaken Identity

For some time now I’ve been receiving emails for someone who has obviously mistaken his own gmail address for my own. Same surname and same letter of first name. How this is possible, I do not know.

This has included emails from hotels confirming bookings for New Years Eve, invitations for summer barbeques and emails from estate agents. I have on occasion emailed back notifying the sender that this email address is incorrect, only to still receive emails from same senders.

I received an email today for ‘Richard’ and decided enough was enough, and have included the original email and my reply below for your amusement.

Hi Richard
I received a phone call from Graham Carter yesterday to confirm that I would still be willing to help out.
Sorry I haven’t been in touch but am still having shower/plumbing problems (since before Christmas); am waiting in today for engineer from manufacturing company who will (hopefully) sort the problem and then I will be able to think of other things than mopping up shower water from my kitchen.

Hi Christine,

I no longer have any contact with Graham Carter after the recent ‘incident’ he was involved with at the petting zoo. I find it disgusting that any human would touch a horse like that, especially given the large number of children that were present at the time.

I was aware that he was having trouble at home, and suspect that he may have started drinking heavily again. However, I cannot and will not be involved with people like this.

Im hoping that this will put to an end people thinking that I am this ‘Richard’ character, as im fucking sick of it.

“To read" a country is first of all to perceive it in terms of the body and of memory, in terms of the body's memory. I believe it is to this vestibule of knowledge and of analysis that the writer is assigned: more conscious than competent, conscious of the very interstices of competence. That is why childhood is the royal road by which we know a country best. Ultimately, there is no Country but childhood's.”
