Let's Make Some Flavored Ice Cubes
It’s Saturday and I am still wiped out from cutting away at that damn book yesterday for hours. Today we’ll keep it short, simple, and sweet with some super summery, flavored ice cubes. Prep time is nothing, effort is minimal, and results are fantastic. Invite some friends over for a classy dinner party and serve some of these with their cocktails? Why, that’s what we call a domesticated bitch slap.
What you’ll need:

- Ice cube tray
- mint leaves
- blueberries
- a lemon
Squeeze lemon into liquid measuring cup:

Remove any seeds with a fork as you go.
Muddle mint and blueberries:

If no muddler is available, press blueberries and mint leaves with the back of a spoon.
Remove leaves:

Using a fork, strain out the mint leaves and blueberry skins. Make sure to shake these suckers dry, they’re seeping with flavorful juice. When you’re finished, your mixture might have a few stray leaves, don’t mind these.
Pour into trays:

When filling the ice cube tray, fill each section with 1/4 juice mixture and 3/4 water. Once the ice cubes have been poured, put them in the freezer.
For additional pizzaz:
If you really wanna show off, before putting the ice-cubes-to-be in the freezer, grab some extra mint, a few more blueberries, and the lemon from earlier:

Using a potato peeler, zest a piece of lemon for each ice cube.

Add a couple of blueberries.

Then just break off a few pieces of mint and toss it in.

Now you can put ‘em in the freezer.
Serve and enjoy:

Once they’ve frozen, pop out your ice cubes and pair them with a little soda water (a splash of vodka wouldn’t kill you either).

Bon drinking!
