i learned in anthro this past week that the reason why women’s sexuality in a patriarchy is policed and watched so carefully originates from the fact that a man needed to know for sure that the child his wife was giving birth to was his own for inheritance reasons

and how in a matriarchy, no one cares about who sleeps with who because in the end the woman knows for a fact that the baby inside her is hers
