Ah rad!

I decided to watch ‘MirrorMask’ tonight and Neil Gaiman’s name popped up.

With Jim Henson too.

So I bought Spartacus: Blood and Sand today… I have very high expectations and I’m really excited. Huzzah for spending money I shouldn’t be spending!

The wolf teaches the croc// Drabble for killercroc-arrancar

An eerie silence enveloped the Primera as he walked lazily across that ash-like sand dunes of Hueco Mundo. But there was another presence following the espada as he made his way along. A companion, Drago, whom he had taken under his wing as of recent. Although he would rather not, the other arrancar had persuaded him into a demonstration of his abilities, perhaps some critique. Hesitantly he agreed, and was now leading the two towards a location he knew where adjuchas gathered. Climbing up to the top of a particularly high mass of sand, the two arrancars looked down, and saw the group of five hollows. Keeping their presence masked, Starrk turned to look back at Drago, glazed eyes locked on the other arrancar, giving a slight nod.

That was his cue. Turning down and selecting his first target in a matter of less than a second, he used sonido, releasing his spiritual pressure simultaneously, sending out a shock wave that hit against the group of lower hollows, just as planned. He reappeared in the center of the group, and quickly wielded his weapon of preference, a chain whip. Lashing it out quickly, it pierced the neck of its first victim, going all the way out the back before being whipped to the side, nearly severing its head. At the gruesome sight, the remaining four scattered running off in a panic for their lives, they knew they couldn’t win in a fight. But it was too late, golden hues scanned slowly and picked their next target, launching the whip out once again to wrap around the adjuchas waist. With a firm pull, it went flying back to Drago, whom had a fist prepared for impact. He launched it, making powerful contact with the back of its head, and the cracking of bone and mask could be heard by all who was present.

Giving a small nod of approval at his strength, Starrk did know the arrancar had much time before he could near his higher level. “Drago, observe.” He barked out at pupil. Drago turned his head to where Starrk’s voice came from at the top of the sand dune, but by then, he was already gone, using sonido to appear in front of one of the panicking adjuchas. An open hand shot out, grabbing it by the face and smashing it down into the sand, as he stood, the Primera quickly drew his sword with his free hand, slashing his victim’s mask and head open effortlessly. Drago watched in awe of his abilities, knowing full well that the Espada was capable of so much more than that. “Show me a cero.” Starrk stated as he cleaned his sword, his voice unshaken and calm. Showing no confirmation sigh other than a raised hand and a murky green aura charging into an orb in front of his palm. Once at the desired size, he released the attack, the beam humming deeply as it inevitably caught up and incinerated its target, leaving nothing but ashes in its wake. A nod of approval was seen from Starrk in the corner of his eyes, and then he spoke again. “Kill the last one however you want, we’re done here.”

Placing the whip in its sheathed position, he drew a long, jagged-bladed sword, and lunged after the final panicking adjuchas. The lower hollow looked back to see where the two attackers were. Bad idea. The one in a white uniform stood calmly as the other was fast approaching, sword draw. Its mind raced, too much panic to properly sonido, it face planted into the ask-like sand, and turned its head to see its impending death.  Nearly dragging the tip of the saw-like blade across the sand, his approach came soon enough, the vicious sword cutting along the length of its target, slicing them clean in half. Sheathing the blade, Drago looked back to Starrk, who was beckoning him with a wave of his hand as he began to walk off in the direction they came from. Catching up to him, Drago couldn’t help but ask. “Well? Did I pass your test?” Starrk couldn’t help but roll his eyes at the question. It was his idea in the first place. “Sure, but you’ve got a lot to learn, kid.” He muttered loud enough for the other arrancar to hear, the two making their way back to Las Noches after a successful hunt.
