BUT GUYS

I’m really astonished by how much hate the tricksters are getting

guys

The Tricksters are really important! They are glitches in the game!

You know what glitches can do?

K I L L   L O R D   E N G L I S H

Wait a minute

The trickster Cherubs look like Lil Cals

Does that mean that

Caliborn becomes Lil Cal somehow

Lil Cal gets prototyped with the Cue Ball to make Doc Scratch

Which is why Doc Scratch becomes LE when he dies?

((I imagine Homestuck ends with the universe all forming back and the camera zooms out from John’s eyes to reveal the panel from right at the beginning of Homestuck, and the final text says “A young man stands in his room…”

And that’s how Homestuck gets that title heh heh

Just a theory, of course, it might prove false.))

What if Derse dreamers go grimdark and Prospit dreamers go trickster???????????

Homestuck Theory

okay so.

in the recent update, we saw that they got the totes secret weapon, but vriska didn’t look too psyched.
now if someone can remember the caliborn actually being related to caledfwch or Excalibur, maybe that has something to do with what they found.

(ps dont listen to me there is like no chance this is true i just thought the whole excaliborn thing was funny)

what if the reason MSPA is down is because roxy voided it out?

Davesprite possibly being dead has been foreshadowed since some of the first acts. 'The sun' has been represented in dave's eyes a bunch, he has dreams about being a crow that flys into the sun, on dave's planet under the beat mesa, there's the swirls that represent the sun, davesprite flew off in that direction, and later appeared in the sky before john, in a way that only dead people have, etc. It's a pretty solid theory as far as theories go, and has nothing to do with recent updates.

Why Caliborn's session won't be scratched (and what will happen instead)

So Bladekindeyewear, aka BlastYoBoots, has a theory on how Dave will venture to the dead session and scratch it causing Caliborn and possibly himself to cease existing and a new post scratch version of Calliope to appear. I’ll give him that it’s quite plausible but I don’t think it will happen, or at least I don’t think it will work.

Before I say why, there’s a few axioms to my thinking here which will be important later:

  • BYB’s theory on the ultimate riddle is correct.
  • Each aspect, in addition to any other meanings, represents one of a pair of fundamental concepts.
  • In the case of Time it is Death, decay, and destruction. Thus the Knight of Time would be “One who Exploits their own Death” And a Maid of Time would be “One who helps others to Exploit their Deaths”
  • In the case of Space the meaning is Birth, Growth, and Creation.
  • Each session has three sets of entities with the same role as in a story. The players are Protagonists; the Horrorterrors & kingdom of Derse are the Antagonists; and Skaia, Prospit, and the varying other guides are the Mentors.
  • Each type of failed session represents a lack in one of these three entities, Null has bad players, Void has no Antagonists, and Dead has no Mentors

Now given this, there is a problem that arises between the nature of the Ultimate riddle, what the scratch actually means, and the structure of a story.

So what does the scratch mean? Mechanically, the scratch is a device which empowers Skaia, turning a normally passive entity into an active player, reorienting the portals such that the guardians and players swap places and wiping the original session from existence. This process phrased to be a “Request” on the part of the players, thus it’s a “request” to have that done. Additionally, the mechanism that initiates the scratch is noted to always appear on the land of a Time Player, thus Death comes into the meaning (Which makes sense given that it culminates in to total and utter destruction of the local incipisphere.) Put together and the meaning of this process is most likely “We want to die” Or more lengthily “We want the Mentor to take over and sacrifice us so that our species may have another chance”.

Now this is all well and good but a problem arises when you try to destroy the primary Villain this way. You’re having the Protagonist attempt to destroy the Villain not through his own action but by telling the mentor, Skaia to take action. This is especially problematic in a dead session where don’t even know if Skaia is still capable of anything at all and, even if that was possible, the simple fact of the Lord of Time’s indomitable will may well shoot down any attempt.

All that said, I do fully expect Dave to try. I simply do not expect him to succeed.

So what happens instead, and where the hell does the Space aspect come into it?

Well we know that there’s some other version of Calliope out there, and a predominant one at that. Of course, that’s what Calliope things. Me, I think that there is no doomed or beta Calliope. The alpha is the only one that Calli’s words to the contrary merely come from the fact that she cannot possibly envision the idea that it is her own future self. (Why not? At no time did Calliope believe she could actually win; she believed it so impossible she did not even try. Even when faced with the idea of a version of herself that predominated she’s a bit incredulous.)

But as to how she possibly could win the answer is, naturally for her Passive Space role, by acting through others to assist in her own creation. We know how her dreamself died, stabbed by Jack on Prospit, we know she left a corpse, we know that dead Prospit dreamers are put on quest beds and taken to the crypt, and most importantly, we know that the human kids know all of this. In the B2 session the went through it themselves, including seeing a dead body in transit, and she told them enough information to infer that it happened to her too. Likewise she and Caliborn are from a the same planet Caliborn is so all they need to do to get there is sending themselves or some portal to Earth, say a fenestrated wall imbued with time travel abilities, and wait.

So what’s to stop Lord English’s will from mucking this up? Well the only thing that possibly could, which is if he didn’t want to stop it.* We’ve heard said that LE is obsessed with Calliope, trying to hunt down every remaining trace of her, in the exact same that cherub will hunt down another during their mating ritual. Indeed he’s even encircling the green sun and while the process is unknown I think it’s a good bet it ends up turning into a black hole, or perhaps Technicolor hole, in reality; perfectly sized for two astronomically scaled snakes to duel each other around. If that’s the case and what he wants is a mate to duel with then I doubt even he could stop his will in ensuring his desires come to pass.

Once the mating battle happens, LE’s indestructibility is moot; his opponent will have the exact same power and if his opponent is fully grown and he is literally unable to grow up as Hussie told him, she’ll have the advantage.

*This is what strikes me as English’s greatest weakness: His will may dominate all reality, but there is no sign that he is in control of his will.

Now, I got abit of a theory here about Homestuck and the Tricksters, and it all starts with…

so lets say the cherubs represent us as the readers (both the ones that enjoy reading homestuck and those that hate it to the core… guess who is who?), in the same way that the rest of the characters somewhat symbolise different areas of the internet.

Calliope draws fanart, has her own fantroll that she cosplays, and she seems to be an onlooker of the story… and from what we’ve learned so far, she may even be a key to defeating Lord English, who plans to destroy our favourite characters and Caliborn taunts Calliope for what she is.

We could possibly be the heroes of Homestuck in the form of Calliope.

apologies if this sounds a bit far-fetched I mean it is almost midnight here. »;;;

so i thought it was a little weird how the update pointed out that little tie bit about caliborn and calliope’s mother

ARANEA: She took after her mother in every way. At least, the way her mother used to 8e, long 8efore she was hardened 8y centuries of isol8tion and o8sessive pursuit of justice.

something tells me we’re in for a lot of character development with calliope

What is so disconcerting about the update is Vriska’s obvious hubris, what with her thinking shes smarter than Lord English with the whole circle thing, but i doubt LE is that dumb to allow her to get the upper hand.

He obviously wants the circle completely considering Caliborns drawing and him being cunning enough to orchestrate this whole temporal game.

It also concerns me how Aradia hasnt shown any signs of catching on to all of this. She knows better than to underestimate Lord English and surely shes smart enough to figure out that this could be used to Lord English’s advantage.

I have a feeling that shes trying more so to find Calliope and Calliope might advise her to use Vriska as a distraction. Then when LE or one of his pawns are dealing with Vriska that will be an opportunity to get him.

All i know is that this won’t end well.

okay so i am bad at this whole homestuck thing

but i want to put a theory out there (that could probably easily be shot down, i am just not in full possession of my faculties so you guys get a ramble…)

okay so like, right now we’re hearing of twenty-four who sacrificed themselves for a reset so that their race could continue

(Sorry guys i just thought about your dashboards uhhhhh yeah i fixed this now. CLICK READ MORE if you care about why i think aradia is being a rebellious teenager at scratch.)
