Why are you so goregeous? I'm jealous D: & by the way, how did you get the "~pictures of me" thingy on your page, sorry i just cant figure it out (: <3
1. Go to ‘Pages’
2. Click ‘Add a page’
3. Type in what you want the link to be in the ‘Page URL’ box
4. Type in what you want the title to be in the ‘Page Title’ box
5. Hit ‘Save page’
6. Paste this into your description box:
<a href=/tagged/*whatever you made your url goes here*>~*what ever you want people to have to click on goes here*</a>
7. Whenever you want a photo to show up there just tag the photo with whatever you made the page URL.
Photos I want to go there are tagged “me”
Hope this helped.
And I think I might’ve skipped a couple steps. >.< If you have any other questions then ask.
Oh and thank you for the compliment. :3
What are pages?
If you’ve tried to customize your blog already, you’ve probably seen that there’s an option to make pages.
To get to a page on a blog, just go to THEIRBLOGNAMEHERE.tumblr.com/PAGENAMEHERE. What do bloggers normally put on pages that they make?
1. faqs, about the blog, etc.
2. pictures of themselves
3. links to other blogs that they have/just links to anywhere in general
Those are the most common things people make pages for. Links to these pages are usually found in a group altogether, many times in sidebars where a picture/avatar might be.
To make a page, go to tumblr.com/customize/YOURBLOGNAMEHERE. This is the general “Customize theme” part of Tumblr. Then, scroll down down until you see “+ Add a page”. It looks like this. Click on “+ Add on a page”!
For these types of pages, just use the “Standard Layout” when you are creating them. This is what I’m talking about. The page url is normally YOURBLOGNAMEHERE.tumblr.com/THETITLEOFTHEPAGE. For example, if I was making an faq for this blog, I would make the page url justfornewbs.tumblr.com/faq. If you want the link to this page to show up in your sidebar or wherever your theme allows, don’t check the box next to “Show a link to this page”. When you’re done writing what you want to show up on the page, just click “Create page”.
When you’re adding links to these pages in the general “Customize theme” part of Tumblr (where you can also change the blog title, add a description, change the colors of your blog, and change your theme), for the link url just put in /pagenamehere, not yoururlhere.tumblr.com/pagenamehere. This section where you can add links like this normally looks similar to this.
That’s it for now.
Oops, wait! I forgot to say that pages cannot be found by searching for them through tags on Tumblr, since you can’t tag pages.
How to Make "Tumblr Family", "FAQs", etc Pages.
So simple to old tumblr users, so this is dedicated for the new ones. :)
1. Use this tut first, how to add pages. If you know this already, skip this step. :)
2. After you have add you pages and got its contents ready, go to your Description box or anywhere you want it to put it.
3. Make a text link or an image link, use this tut. And use the URL of your recently made pages.
4. Then, Voila! :) Save!
I'm gonna sound really stoopid now, but oh wells :D. i was wandering if you could teach/tell me how to like add pages, please? if u could that wud be awesome! xx
That’s not a stupid question at all!
So what you need to do, is go in to customise. Along the right there is a sidebar with lots of different options. Near the bottom there is an option that says Pages on it, click that. It’ll open in the same tab.
Click on the button that says Add Pages. It’ll open up a new window for you, with all the things you can do with pages. If you want posts on that page, up the top there’s is a bar with a thing (I can’t remember the word aha), so at the end you add in /whatever you tagged the post as.
Then you can name the page, and check the little box at the middle to show it on your blog. If that wasn’t helpful enough (it probably wasn’t) ask again, with what you need more help with :) xx
