Wearing: coat: vintage from Housing Works via Lucky Shops, cape: vintage, top: Chelsea Flower, faux-leather pants: Poor, pumps: Pema, clutch: c/o Elly Clay, jewelry: Forever 21.

I’ve always worn this cute-as-a-button cape with equally darling items but decided to go with add it on top of an otherwise urban outfit and love the way it marries two very different looks. I didn’t want to add anything else but felt a needed one more very feminine element to really make the look cohesive so I pulled the crown of my hair into a small pony and tried it into a bow! If Lady Gaga has taught us anything, its that your hair is just as much a part of your look as the clothes you’re wearing! xoxo.

Two years ago

I published a poem called What Got You Here. To me, it’s not a particularly interesting poem, and it feels a bit dated. But this poem started the The Target Bird Year, which I never thought I’d finish when I started out, and certainly never thought would lead to me maintaining this as a regular blog.

Flash forward another year, and I see this pop up on my dash:

a poster for the Poetry Bomb live event at Housing Works, and it has my name on it with Paul fucking Muldoon. All because of this blog.

Frankly, it blows my mind. Every new follower, every like, every reblog, every nice comment — it’s not a new thing, but it never feels like it’s old or tired or just part of the norm. Seriously, everyone, THANK YOU. I cannot think of words potent enough to express how much I appreciate each and every one of you. Thank you for giving me new reasons to continue this weird little poetry endeavor every day, and I only hope that in some way I’m able to reciprocate how you make feel through these dumb little poems. Thank you thank you thank you.
