Just Like I Dreamed They'd Be || Highschool AU || Rapunzel & Flynn

Rapunzel Solaris flopped down in the grass on the quad, her long blonde hair spreading around her. She loved how the cool grass felt on the back of her neck and arms and legs. This school really had a great lawn! She never got enough of rolling around on it!

She closed her eyes against the bright afternoon sunlight, enjoying the warmth on her face and musing at how she could see her blood through her eyelids. But all of a sudden, a shadow blocked her sun. She opened one green eye to see who it was, expecting one of her friends.

She was not expecting to see the most popular bad boy at school standing over her.

Some people’s beauty is obvious.

It’s startling and breath-taking, even if it’s static in a picture. They are classically beautiful, a nice composite of shapes and features.

Castiel isn’t immediately striking. For a long time, he’s simply Castiel, Dean’s nerdy best friend. Dean doesn’t think of him as beautiful. He doesn’t lie awake thinking about Castiel at night and he doesn’t daydream about him in class. Castiel is just there, like he’s always been, and Dean doesn’t really see him.

Then, one day, it hits him just how gorgeous Castiel is. They’re in the library together, just passing the time between the shelves where no one is likely to find them. Castiel is reading, his brow furrowed in concentration, eyes narrowed and lips pursed.

Dean stares at him and thinks “You’re beautiful,” followed by “I want to kiss you.

And once Dean has realized that, it’s impossible to go back.

He takes the book from Castiel’s hands, putting it down, and cups Castiel’s face. Castiel looks confused and Dean’s heart almost hurts because that expression is beautiful too.

“I’m going to kiss you,” he says.

Castiel smiles, soft and hardly there at all.

“Good. I’ve been hoping you would.”

So Dean does kiss him.

Teenage Wasteland || Highschool AU

Gabriel strolled into class, late as usual. He gets a few glares and stares as he makes a loud entrance, slamming the door behind him.
The teacher gives him a cold glare as he slides into his seat in the very back. The teacher shakes his head and continues the lesson. He can’t really argue with Gabriel, he’s getting near perfect grades dispite his tardiness.
Gabriel swung his legs up to rest on his desk and leaned back. Nap time.

Written for scaredycas. Inspired by her amazing ‘Logan and Brock Verse’.

In which Dean Winchester doesn’t want to fall in love, until he does.

New Girl on Campus: Highschool AU || Rapunzel and Merida

Rapunzel tucked her long blond hair behind her ear and stood on the quad, blankly looking at her class schedule. Where the heck was L-Building? She looked around, biting her lip. For that matter, where was G-Building?

She turned and, without really looking, addressed the nearest person. “Excuse me, would you mind helping me?”

Castiel is driving Dean insane, and the worst part is that he doesn’t even realise he’s doing it.

Castiel doesn’t have the time or patience for anyone, always glancing around with uninterested eyes and headphones in his ears, shutting himself off from the people around him.

Dean watches; he always watches.

There’s something about Cas that gets his blood pumping. Maybe it’s the snarky remarks he shoots at anyone who dares make fun of him, or maybe it’s the way he bites his lips and sucks on his pen lid when he’s concentrating. But what Dean does know, is that every time Cas turns him down with hard eyes and knife-sharp words, it makes him want to try that much harder.

It starts to get out of hand; after watching Cas in class and at across the cafeteria he starts to slip into other places too. Cas’ blue eyes and pink mouth and permanent scowl find their way into Dean’s mind when he’s lying in bed, arms crossed behind his hand. Then it gets worse; Cas bitter laugh and harsh smirk are flashing behind he eyelids when he gets himself off in the shower.

That’s when Dean decides he has to grow a pair and do something about his ridiculous fixation. He has to try asking Cas out again, even if he makes a dick of himself, he needs to do something. He corners Cas in the hallways the next morning and wastes no time in crowding him against his locker.

“Your face will stick that way if the wind changes,” Dean says, resting his hands on the metal by either side of Cas’ head.

Cas’ frown just deepens. “Good, maybe it’ll put you off and you’ll leave me alone.”

Dean chuckles and shakes his head because it’s going to take more that than to deter him, especially after all the dirty, dirty fantasies he’s been having.

“Oh sweetheart, I don’t give up that easy. Besides, you don’t even know what I’m gonna say.”

Cas rolls his eyes, but Dean can sense that he’s trying to squirm away. He’s looking everywhere but at Dean, either looking for an exit or just trying to avoid his gaze.

“It only takes a degree of intelligence to know you have a one-track mind,” he mumbles, and Dean’s dick definitely does not twitch at the derision in his voice.

“One date. You, me, back row of that new horror film?” Dean edges a little closer, tilts his head before he knows he’s doing it, and he’s sure that Cas looks at lips for a few seconds before he pushes Dean away roughly.

“Keep dreaming, Dean.” And with that, he’s giving Dean some look that says ‘you really think you stand a chance?’, and strides away from him.

And well, he’s not wrong, Dean is going to have plenty of dreams to keep him motivated.
