Alleged Andover hazing incident gets camp kicked off Stonehill campus

The hazing involved two underclassmen being coaxed into playing a humiliating sex game by older members of the Andover High basketball team while they attended the camp in early July, The Eagle-Tribune has reported. According to a source, the two students were pressured into a playing a game called “wet biscuit” with the loser being forced to eat an Oreo cookie covered in a bodily fluid. Nine members of the basketball team attended the camp when the incident occurred.

I thought very seriously about whether or not I wanted to post this here because I find it extremely bothersome.  Still, its a reality.  If we’re going to fight against hazing [and hazers] then we have to be very brave about addressing such things as this.

Old post- New game jerseys (story form for whatever reason)

“Quick, get your jerseys on!”
The players, swelling with curiousity, ran in to see what was going on inside.

It was like Christmas morning, armor-clad football players were sliding around with their cleats on the tiled floor of the team room. They hollered, and they cheered, holding above their heads new game jerseys, carefully folded and wrapped in plastic. The smiles on their faces were unrivalled. Their coaches, who had painstakingly taken the time to place each jersey in front of the respective player’s locker, smiled and looked on as chaos— yet also pure, unbridled joy— amongst the young players ensued.

Players practically ripped off the jerseys they then had on. The uniforms, covered in patches and faded numbers, although loved and treasured, had been used for years and the shirts had reached their limits, and were thrown into bins. Quickly, players threw on the new jerseys; new design, patch-free, and with the great “new” smell. Teammates helped their peers pull them on, the floors were covered in the remains of the plastic wrappers. Spirits were undoubtedly the highest they’d been all week, for both the student players and the coaches.

It was the start of a great game.
