I was born on the north east coast and moved out to the southwest when I was about 2. My parents are city people. My mom's always hated camping and the outdoors and my dad kind of enjoys it. To me that's the stuff I live for. I've always been a country girl at heart. now that I'm almost 20, I've started to make it my lifestyle. I get a lot of crap though from some of my friends though country and city folk. Sometimes I feel like I can't be because of my upbringing. Any advice?

I completely understand dear anon! My mom also never liked camping and even though I live in a small town in NorCal most of the people here don’t understand why I would ever move to the south or want to live the “lifestyle.”
But of COURSE you can be that way. You need to live your life the way that makes YOU happy not everyone else. If your friends are giving you crap for it just address it. Tell them that it bothers you, and that everyone has their own way of living and you’d appreciate it if they’d stop because the way you are makes you happy.
If they care about you they’ll listen :) If they don’t, then think about your relationship with those people.

Just be true to yourself because in the end that’s what’s going to lead you to where you want to go, and that’s what will make you happiest :)
