Getting in a twitter argument over gun control -__-
its pointless to try to get through the minds of stubborn conservatives who refuse to let go of an amendment made over 200 years ago and are under-informed and think we are going to take their precious hunting rifles away from them.
Its irritating when they use the argument ‘omfg lyke if a gun kills a person than a fork makes u fat and a car causes accidents lol im so smart’ like no forks and cars are designed for eating and driving, guns are specifically made for the purpose of injuring/killing somebody
Guns are Political
I refuse to accept ‘don’t politicize this.’
It is political when cowards hide behind the 2nd Amendment and say, ‘oh, we can’t talk about gun control at a time like this!’
Now, as always, is the time.
We are addicted to guns in this culture because so many of the white men in this culture have convinced themselves that ‘other people’ (women, people of color of course) are going to take what has been ours (I know my privilege) for centuries. And these cowardly white men are armed to the teeth because the cowards at the NRA and their political cronies in DC and in every state capital make sure they can be by leaving huge loop-holes ‘for the hunters’.
And that’s what these crazy-ass mass murders are doing: hunting children. Hunting teachers. Hunting family members.
I am so angry.

- Now is not the time to be talking about gun control, the time to be talking about gun control was years ago with Columbine, and with Sandy Hook, and countries other shooting that could have been prevented.
- The world is falling apart, we need better health care in this country so people who are mentally ill can get the right kind of help, and we need Gun control laws and restrictions to prevent these horrific things from happening.
- Now is a better time than ever. We shouldn't live in a world fueled by fear.
