‘Surrey Police hunt for ‘vulnerable’ missing schoolgirl


Police have appealed for help in finding a “vulnerable” schoolgirl who has gone missing in Guildford.

Jessica Giles, 13, of Manor Way, was last seen on Tuesday at 08:00 GMT by a family member as she left home.

The teenager is described as white, around 5ft 5” tall and of a slim build with short straight, light brown hair, which is longer on one side She was wearing a blue Guildford County School blazer, an apple green school shirt, a blue school skirt and black pump style shoes.

Police said she had not made contact with her family and the disappearance was “extremely out of character”.

Det Sgt Chris Rambour said: “I would ask anyone who may know her whereabouts to contact Surrey Police as soon as possible. Similarly I would ask Jessica herself to call us so that we can ensure she is safe and well.”

She was also last seen wearing a grey woollen hat, a black and white scarf with a zig zag pattern, and was carrying a large black bag.

Surrey Wildlife wants you to pick up owl droppings so they can monitor the number of, wait for it… field mice! Hmmm… I wonder what happened to the conventional tennis ball with a hole in it method to survey mice populations… Oh well, at least it gets everybody involved in the ecological fun (boredom)!
