Karen Gillan, who starred as Doctor Whos companion for several seasons on the hit BBC show, is joining the cast of Marvel Studios Guardians of the Galaxy. The movie is barreling towards a late June shoot in the UK with James Gunn behind the camera.

Someone created a petition, I signed it, and I hope many people on Tumblr will, too, because Marvel needs to know that we CARE about who will handle big franchises, and how BAD it is that a man like him is allowed to work in this industry, considering his vision of women and women characters is basically, meat.
