The child held her umbrella high, looking up at the adult standing behind her. She’d been splashing in puddles, so much so that the bottoms of her jeans looked soaked and her rain shoes shined while making disgusting sucking and squished noises each time she stepped. Only now did she become aware of the person behind her and turned to check in curiosity. The newcomer has just submerged herself in another deep puddle created by the curb she was near. Skylar wasn’t usually alone but, of course, she sneaked out once in a while… mostly when it was raining. “I’m not the leader, you shouldn’t be following me,” she said instinctively, having this sort of thing happen at school during the exact game. “If I was some sort of leader I’d be on the Tele, leading whatever it is leaders lead. There was a strong smell of burning coming from the kitchen that wafted to the front door as Clara opened it. When her gaze fell on the face of the Doctor, it stretched into a smile and slow, surprised, “Hi.”
Opening the door up, and stepping aside to let him in, she continued on to say, “You’re early you know, it’s not wednesday yet, and it’s not even eight in the morning.”
Waiting for the Doctor to come inside, her hands tightened on the door frame, and before she could say anything else, Angie called. “Clara, I think the pancakes are catching fire.”

“…Ciao…” He murmured timidly, adjusting his scarf as he gave her a smile.
