so today...
SO TODAY HAS BEEN ABSOLUTELY THE BEST MIX OF EUPHORIC/RIDICULOUS/FANTASTIC/PERFECT.
-Went to an open house up in the Richmond only to find we read the date wrong
-3 hours of rehearsal for Daniel’s Senior Recital and Funk Ensemble
-Another open house in the Richmond. An absolutely beautiful place but the price was misadvertised so it was completely out of our price range but either way it was gorgeous.
-Steamed pork buns and deep fried dumplings from Good Luck Dim Sum
-Drive to San Jose for….
-Coldplay concert. We had bought seats in the 211 section at HPPavilion. During the first opening band, a lady in a black shirt with a walkie-talkie (the fourth lady in that one picture) came up to me and asked the three of us to please come with her. We answered two Coldplay-related questions. And got front row seats. Oh wait. Let me put that in caps. WE GOT FRONT ROW SEATS. Because she saw that we had a bunch of glowstick bracelets. That we bought for $1/15sticks at Target. The two dollars we spent that day at Target changed our lives. Anyway. Metronomy went on first and I was glad that they played the only song I know (“Heartbreaker”). The keyboardist Oscar dances like a robot and hella looked at us and waved at us as they were walking off stage. And then Coldplay actually played. And let me just say. WOW. What a great show. They really give Green Day (best shows I’ve ever been to) a run for their money. Chris Martin smiled right at us for a number of seconds. My panties melted. I couldnt stop smiling after that. They played that one song, Fix You and Every Tear Drop is a Waterfall for their encore and I kind of died a little bit. And we got to keep the little lighty uppy bracelets.
-Drove back to San Francisco. Went to Mel’s for milkshakes and food. Made some friends with some drunk dudes in baseball caps.
-Marin decided she wanted to go see the Golden Gate Bridge since it was a clear night. But there’s all of this detoury stuff going on bc of the construction and I got really confused and accidentally got back on CA-1 NORTH. not South like I should have. And I freaked out because you have to pay bridge tolls coming back into sf and i didnt want to do that and stopped on the on-ramp and didnt realize there was somebody behind. Or that there was a cop sitting right there. Because.
-GUIZE I GOT PULLED OVER. For the first time in my life. He followed me all the way over the Golden Gate Bridge without me noticing because he didn’t turn his lights on. But I was just planning on pulling into the vista point to turn around anyway so he followed me there. He came up to my window. Asked me if I was lost. No. But you stopped in the middle of an on-ramp. I know I really didnt mean to. Where are you from. Here. Have you been drinking tonight? Underage. Don’t drink. Has that ever stopped you before? I dont drink cross my heart. Is everybody wearing seatbelts? Well yeah. Can you follow my finger with just your eyes? I start to giggle because something about this is so entertaining. Okay have a safe drive home. Okay thanks you too. No ticket. But. Paid bridge toll.
-Home. I should prolly go to sleep.
