Sign upHow I Glitched my Vanellope
airtightinteractive.comI used this website and it’s really easy and fun to use!!! http://www.airtightinteractive.com/demos/js/imageglitcher/
Just drag your image onto the website; Glitch 4 or 5 times depending on what you want at different levels (from lowest to highest is what I did)

For the last two images, I glitched it with a transparent background, but ya know it really depends on your preference.
Pop all of these frames in Photoshop and open up an animation window (Window>Animation) and order them like s oOO, but you can probably order the glitchy things anyway you want! Just experiment around and see which you like best.

Save for Web and Devices and…

My Phone Is Getting The BlackScreen...
My BB is getting the black screen effect, because of its case. Its worn out, dragging the device in and out… I’m afraid ima have to keep the phone off of the case, or keep it in the case and lose it forever. Why is this happening to me? Because of this fricking case my phone is glitching when typing. WTF?!?
Alright, love this blog, but the time has come for me to ask how you do it. I've played with databending before, and I've sequenced music in hexadecimal, and I've written some basic computer programs, so I think I should be able to get to grips with it, and rather than spending hours trying to has through something by myself and end up pissed off that I can't work it out, I thought I'd just ask the master. What do you do and how do you do it?
You came to the right entity jackpuke Disabling line break syntax For sake of simplicity Because holy hell this is long
When it comes to hex editing It’s less actually knowing the fundamentals of hexidecimal coding and values And more going willy nilly with trial and error in finding where the graphics and sounds are located in the ranges With that said though I will show you the ropes kid Show you thaaaaaaa ropes
With all hex editing and ROM corrupting programs The main thing is editing the data tables To create abrupt and severe changes to the game Whether it be in sounds graphics controls redirections or the core programs Sometimes they are organized very nicely by the creators Others times like a rat in a maze Jumbled in between coding that will freeze the game if altered This is where your job comes in You gotta find the right range And edit them until you get a somewhat desired effect The emulator I use for NES is NEStopia Gameboy with Visual Boy Advance Any emulator is good so long as it can screen capture and record AVIs for GIFs (which we’ll get into later) and WAVs for sound And the two programs for hex editing are ROM Corrupter 5.99 by Dwedit and Hexecute There are many others but these work best for me I’ll go over each one

First is ROM Corrupter 5.99 by Dwedit This is probably the most user friendly program you’re going to find However a .ocx component it needs only works for non-Windows 8 systems As the needed component can’t be licensed under Windows 8 As it’s not packaged for it or some other legal reason or lack of reason So this program is only workable for lower models Aside from that it is your best and quickest bet to get some NES ROMs fucked up
First is getting all the directories (1) straightened out Make sure the emulator and ROM and newly created corrupted version are in the same folder Once that’s kinked out the only thing left is to specify a range of values to hex edit (2) Which bits (3) And to apply the effect desired to selection (4) Then click GO (5) if you want to stay on that range Or AUTO which will move the specifications to the next range if you added one Both will start up the emulator and load the corrupted ROM (6)
The advantages of this program is that it’s very very easy to change a huge amount of data quickly Where most others you have to nick-pick your selection And is able to hex edit NES SNES and Gameboy ROMs It is also able to hold 10 global saves of your worktable So you can access the range of a hardy ROM easily again Or leave off on where you last were
The problems are two Again it doesn’t work on Windows 8 which is common on today’s computers and laptops You need to downgrade in order for it to register the neccessary component The other one is that while it can make big changes in a friendly manner It’s impossible to use for exact effects or more complex glitching As you can only really have one selection at a time
For the second problem I head over to Hexecute I don’t use Hexecute as much since it requires a lot of labor and is reserved for more patient people But it in return it has massive advantages as well over ROM Corrupter 5.99 The first is that since everything is manual You can have much more precise success in hex editing sound or graphics to your pleasing And are able to change anything without having a limit range and hop over anywhere The second one is that if you’re knowledgable in hexidecimal programming You can immediately locate where everything is Instead of dicking around with ROM Corrupter 5.99 and hoping for the best The third one is you can open a corrupted ROM with ROM Corrupter 5.99 and compare it to the original ROM to see what was changed exactly And the save the table as back-up to recreate the desired or close effect later on The last and biggest one is probably the fact it works for Windows 8

Now how to work Hexecute First make sure to make a duplicate of the ROM you wish to corrupt As it will save over the one you currently have open Instead of making a copy As said it requires manual input You don’t have to know programming in and out to use it well Honestly there’s not that much to explain in using it Just click where you want to change (1) And begin You can leave from there and move onto another spot Should the sound or graphic data be jumbled up across the game And save the table itself to implement into other ROMs under the dropdown menus (2) Once finished save the ROM and open it up in the emulator (3)
Now for personal tips 1. When corrupting sound and graphics as whole use ROM Corrupter 5.99 And for more precise/sensitive values Hexecute 2. You will get a lot of CPU jams and freezes If this is constantly happening you are probably in a core (data that supports the game directly) Or controls Or redirectories 3. If you are wanting to make GIFs The shortest way is to save what you want as a GIF as an AVI And then open up said AVI in Evan’s Movie To Animated GIF Converter (freeware) Then select time intervals and export And it will automatically have it saved as an automated GIF You can also save separate frames and use Photoshop or GIMP and line them up and save as animated GIF But that takes longer 4. If you want to resize an image Use Photoshop or GIMP and scale image without any interpolation To keep them pixels nice and crispy 5. Tumblr will reject some of your GIFs That’s just how life rolls sometimes 6. BACK-UPS BACK-UPS BACK-UPS Keep all the corrupted ROM copies you made Maybe not for something like a screenshot But definitely for ones you rendered AVIs or WAVs from The ROM sizes are tiny as shit so you might as well be safe than sorry when you a AVI becomes unreadable (which does happen sometimes) Or when Tumblr rejects your GIF And trust me Recreating the same effect with ROM Corrupter 5.99 without having it globally saved within it or Hexecute Or remembering bits changed and how Is fucking impossible Especially if you use the random bits corrupted option 7. Master through practice I’ve wasted 3 years of free time with this And there’s still plenty of games and possibilities to dick around with 8. Have fun No seriously if you don’t then what’s the fucking purpose Money question mark Ha ha ha ha Good one Anyways yeah No point in keeping with something that bores you You’ll have plenty of time to toil away with stuff no one cares about So you might as well enjoy what you do with this
That is pretty much it Hope you and other potential game glitchers out there find this useful pC Out
PS Thanks for calling me master Probably not but it’s good to be seen in high standards
