Another Text Tutorial, by Spoony
I’ve had a few people ask me how to make that text box you sometimes see in gifs (the one that you see behind the text, so the text itself is easier to read). It’s a popular trend with gifs right now, so here’s how to do it! We’ll be learning how to make the box that appears behind this bit of text in this gif:
What You Will Need:
- Photoshop CS4 (any version will do - this is just the version that I use)

Me Watching Woman In Black (What Really Happened)
IT WASN’T AS BAD AS I THOUGHT. At first I went in and I was on the end of the row of my friends, and there was a woman and this kid who looked about 8 next to me (though I fail to see how he got in) and the film started but it wasn’t scary at first so I was all:
Then the first scary part came on and the music was building up so I was like:
And then it was just a man but everyone was like this anyway:
And I kept watching even though I was getting really nervous and everytime the music got louder I was like:
Then these bits happened:
And everyone else in the cinema was like:
And I wanted to be all:
But I was actually like this:
And then Lauren and Shannon decide they need the bathroom so I’m sat 2 spaces away from the rest of my friends and this little 8 year old is staring at me like:
And I’m just there like:
And they come back and then THE WOMAN IN BLACK APPEARS LIKE:
And she’s screaming at Daniel Radcliffe and he’s like:
And then some other stuff happens which I don’t remember because I had my hood over my face. And then the end Daniel Radcliffe meets his son again and I was all:
And the Woman In Black appears YET AGAIN so everyone in the cinema is like:
But I’m like this because it’s the end of the film and the lights are going on:
And me and all my friends leave the cinema like this:
And we go back to Chloe’s and everyone sleeps soundly but I’m just like:
Why polyspermy is a bad idea and you should stop it
First of all, what is polyspermy? Polyspermy is when you have an egg:
And a whole lot of sperm.
Except. All that sperm? This is what happens:
And so then they all try to sex up the embryo:
Except, this is what happens to the embryo:
Which is a veryvery bad thing. And we are sad.
SO HOW DO WE STOP THIS DASTARDLY THING FROM HAPPENING?
TWO WAYS
ONE: FAST BLOCK
SO. A SPERM HAS ENTERED THE EMBRYO. THIS IS THE REACTION.
And the influx of Na+ to the cell increases. YOU HAVE MORE ELECTRONS. ERGO. MORE CHARGE.
NO MORE SPERM. (Because Magneto is scary)
EXCEPT This is not a totally permanent solution. SO. WE GO ON. TO METHOD TWO.
TWO: SLOW BLOCK
SO A SPERM HAS ENTERED HAS IT? This is what happens:
You get a calcium wave initiating from the site of sperm entry. Which initiates the cortical granule to create a fertilization envelop around the embryo.
ERGO. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS. WHEN THE SPERM TRY TO JOIN IN.
THEY ARE DENIED.
So the sperm and egg are safely together. And then there is a baby.
