GHANA Mission_Little 11 yr old boy #13+ [of 13]

The little 11 yr old boy’s grandmother (a small woman, but obviously strong) carried him on her back the five miles to the clinic!! - just so he could be seen by the doctor. [We had suggested that they bring him to the clinic.] She must be the one in the extended family that has the most care and concern for him - [and most likely the reason that his fate was not that of others born with disabilities in this culture]. It was here that Dr Carl first saw him and made the diagnosis of ‘failure to thrive’. Both JD (John) and the doctor were overcome with emotion when they saw him. The doctor said he’d never seen anything like it and suggested that we pray. He said that if the boy had been treated like any other child from birth - loved, cared for, talked to, etc - that he would now be like any other child, just maybe a little slower. What a sad situation - but please pray and believe with us for his miracle. God is ABLE! By God’s grace he will walk and talk - all for the glory of God!
