It’s much cleaner and user-friendly, in my opinion. Hopefully they stick with it.
Google Drive Supposedly Launching in the Coming Weeks
bit.lyRumors of Google Drive, or GDrive as it was named in the beginning, started to emerge at around the same time that the popular file synchronization and hosting service Dropbox opened its doors to the public (that was 2007). All went quiet shortly thereafter and it appeared as if the project had been canceled by Google.
The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Google is about to launch Google Drive for real this time. Sources are not disclosed, and information other than the name of the cloud based hosting service are not offered in the article.
It is likely that Google Drive will offer free basic storage options and upgrades for users and teams that require more than the basic amount of storage. The pricing structure has not been revealed yet, but it seems possible that Google could simply add Drive o the list of services that you can already purchase additional storage for.

Firefox security tweaks! :)
bit.ly- Content: Enable block popup windows and disable Javascript when it isn’t needed.
- Privacy: Enable the DNT (Do-Not-Track). For history, use custom settings. “Always use private browsing mode” should be enabled. “Remember my browsing history”, “Remember download history” and “Remember search and form history” should be turned off. “Accept cookies from sites”, but un-check “Accept third party cookies” as they aren’t needed often. Location bar: select “Suggest nothing”.
- Security: Enable “Warn me when sites try to install add-ons”, “Block reported attack sites” and “Block reported web forgeries”. Under Passwords, disable “Remember passwords for sites” and use a master password.
- Advanced – General – System Defaults: Disable “Submit crash reports and performance data”.
- Advanced – Network – Offline Storage: Check “Override automatic cache management and limit cache to 0MB space”. Further—you can un-check “Tell me when a website asks to store data for offline storage use”.
- Advanced – Encryption: Ensure both “Use SSL 3.0 and Use TLS 1.0″ are enabled. Then click validation > check “When an OCSP server connection fails, treat the certificate as invalid”.
- about:config -> geo.enabled -> double click to false – what does this do? When this is enabled, websites will be able to identify your location based on your IP address.
- about:config -> browser.sessionhistory.max_entries -> change value to 2 – this increases your privacy.
- about:config -> dom.storage.enabled -> double click to false – this should always be set to false. Leaving this enabled lets the browser store data onto your computer.
- about:config -> browser.display.use_document_fonts -> change value to 0 – This limits the fonts it sends to websites you visit. The fonts on your computer can be very unique and it could identify your workplace.
- about:config -> browser.cache.offline.capacity -> change to 0 – without going into depth, this one is like the two below. It prevents the browser from storing local data.
- about:config -> browser.cache.offline.enable -> change to false – This prevents the browser from storing cache on your system.
- about:config -> browser.cache.memory.enable -> change to false – again this is better off left at false. It prevents the browser from storing cache memory on the computer.
- Adblock Plus—I recommend this extension for beginner to intermediate computer user. Adblock Plus is a useful extension that blocks annoying ads and prevents them from tracking you.
- NoScript—I recommend NoScript for advanced computer users as a replacement for Adblock Plus. This extension will block all scripts on a page to give you the maximum privacy and security possible.
- HTTPS Everywhere—This is a fantastic extension provided by the Electronic Frontier Foundation. Basically, HTTPS Everywhere enables a secure connection on pages that have SSLCertificates. For example, when you use Google search most people use the unencrypted version. This extension will force Google to use its SSL certificate.
- BetterPrivacy—This extension is pretty basic, but a must have. Basically, BetterPrivacy deletes flash cookies (LSOs/SuperCookies).
WinLaunch, Mac OS X Launchpad For Windows
httpIf you are using Macs and Windows PCs, and like the new launchpad that Apple integrated into Max OS X Lion, you may be delighted to hear that WinLaunch is bringing the functionality to the Windows operating system. Designed specifically for all 32-bit and 64-bit editions of Windows Vista and later, WinLaunch adds an application launcher to the Windows desktop.
The core functionality can be triggered in different ways. First by starting the application launcher, then by moving the mouse cursor into the upper left corner of the screen to bring up the launchpad interface, and finally with the keyboard shortcut Shift-Tab.
WinLaunchWhen you first run the application launcher you need to enter configuration mode by hitting f on the keyboard. This moves the launcher into a windowed mode, so that you can drag and drop files, folders and applications into the launcher’s interface.

Files and folders can be placed individually in the launcher, or in groups. The latter option can be useful to sort specific applications or documents so that they do not clutter the main interface.
You can drag files and folders on top of each other both in windowed mode and normal mode, or open files, folders or launch programs with a click on the program icon.
You can open the program settings with a middle-mouse click while the application window is active or in front. You can then change display settings, enable tablet mode or support for multi-monitor systems. Here you can also change the startup hotkey, enable custom backgrounds or enable synaptic support if you are working with touchpads.
The developer plans to improve the application launcher in future releases. From an api for custom extensions to advanced themes, auto population of items and dock support, there is a lot that you can look forward to in future releases.
WinLaunch can be downloaded from the developer website Keep in mind that it is only working under Vista or later, and that it requires the Microsoft .Net Framework 4.0.
