So today I realized that Germany is quickly becoming a country I really should live in.
They have a rich and…interesting history, and I love history.
They almost rival the Irish in their beer.
My photographic style is derived from the Dusseldorf Kunstakademie.
And they invented Christmas.
I am seriously considering applying for a grad school program out there in a few years.
Want to get established and really refine my style here in the states first, but I would think maybe around 25, 26 I would consider seriously looking into it.
The Casual Observation.
So, not to start shit or anything, but I just kind of realized something tonight.
A lot of people who dislike Piper call her a Mary Sue.
A lot of these same people love Reyna.
Piper has her obvious flaws.
Reyna, on the other hand, doesn’t really seem to have any flaws whatsoever. She’s quite the ideal character. She’s strong, she’s intelligent, she can overlook past misdeeds and allow people who have wronged her the opportunity to redeem themselves, she doesn’t allow herself to be distracted from her duty by personal grievances, she doesn’t appear to have any real weaknesses, she’s loyal, she’s able to see the big picture while still focusing on little details…
She’s fucking perfect.
But she’s not a Mary Sue? Because the boy didn’t choose her?
Intriguing.
Double. Standards.
Fandom norm, I suppose.
Excuse me while I go back to my can of Löwenbrau and my ten hour version of “They’re Taking The Hobbits To Isengard” (I’m honestly nearing the two hour mark for this video).
Carry on.
(Still sober enough to feel the need to say that I love both Reyna and Piper equally, so this is not me hating on a character. Just me hating on double standards imposed by fans.)
