It’s the holiday season, so naturally it’s that time of year when our favorite bands occasionally get festive and dip their toes into the holiday music waters. In recent years, WHAM!’s “Last Christmas” has become a favorite to cover by all sorts of bands (Jimmy Eat World, Florence and the Machine, and Coldplay to name a few), and now we get the dark sexy groove of The XX to add to the pot. They take the original and give it a shadowy melancholic makeover, which works surprisingly well in contrast to the sugary sweet original. Definitely something you’re going to want to hear.
