Am I the only person who finds this completely sick? This isn’t even the only news story I’ve seen in which male victims are painted as a joke. The teenager who was gang raped by 4 women in Toronto? The man who had his sperm stolen being forced to pay child support? Does no one else realise that these are DISGUSTING CRIMES AND THEY AREN’T FUCKING FUNNY WTF SOCIETY GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER!!

It is not a parent’s “right” to genitally mutilate their child. Quit acting like it’s a completely natural way to go about having a kid. It isn’t
If your child wants their penis to be cut. Let them decide. All the people saying that they would rather have it done as a baby so they won’t remember it and that it’ll hurt more as an adult?
Do you not know how babies work. They don’t remember concrete memories but they remember feelings. Their psyche is not a glass window where you can do anything to them and it won’t matter up until a certain age. And as for getting it done as an adult? What do you think they do? Not give you any numbing solution, just hack away with no pain medication? Are you stupid?
It’s not the parent’s right. It’s the child’s. Grow the fuck up.

The foreskin of the child has also potential to be used as a graft during a vaginoplasty, or surgery for individuals who were born with genetalia that does not match their gender, in this case a penis instead of a vagina. This is incredibly helpful because less skin will be needed from other regions of the body, so less grafting and scars, and you can use the excess skin from the foreskin to aid in the procedure.

There’s a poll on msnbc about circumcision and the pro-cutters are winning. I know there are a lot of intactivists here so let your opinion be heard: go vote and lets swing this thing. People need to know they’re not alone in thinking genital mutilation of infants is wrong, regardless of gender.

okay first of all, being circumcised does not remove pleasure from intercourse. I don’t know who the fuck started that one.
Saying “genital mutilation” is not only incorrect and rude, but also offensive to women in third-world countries who have clitoridectemies forced upon them.
Tumblr, the site where everyone is okay how they are and they were born how they were and should be accepted is really hating on something that happens, for medical and health reasons (don’t fucking test me on this, “oh only 1% of people really /need/ to be circumcised” no shut the fuck up until I can SEE your goddamn medical degree I’m not having it) and saying that it’s gross and that they wouldn’t date someone who has been circumcised?
I don’t see anyone hating on uncircumcised penises so why the hate here?

If you’re going to compare male genital mutilation to female genital mutilation, get your god damn facts straight.
FGM - In reality there is no such thing as female circumcision. The proper term is clitorectomy. It is the removal of the clitoris so the woman will not experience orgasm and is different than a circumcision that only removes skin. The clitorectomy has no benefits.
MGM - Guys are born with a layer of skin fused to glans over the end of their penis, called a foreskin. Circumcision means cutting off the layer of skin and exposing the end of their penis. It’s done either because people think it’s normal to do, or for religious or cultural reasons, usually right after birth, but in some cultures at 8 or 10 years of age, or teens or adults might decide to have it done.
Now, the procedure that is equivalent to male circumcision is called a clitoral hoodectomy. Both the penis and clitoral are covered with a prepuce (foreskin) to protect the sensitive sexual body party under this layer of skin. Currently it’s illegal to do a clitoral hoodectomy on a girl under the age of consent.
Oh wait, read that bold part again? A clitoral hoodectomy on a girl is illegal if they are under the age of consent.. because it’s considered genital mutilation in almost all other countries. So someone please enlighten me as to why male genital mutilation is still legal?
