Just studying for my Japanese History midterm that is tomorrow for a General Education course that I am taking pass/no pass.
And I haven’t gone to class in about a month.
Or read any of the books.
And just started studying for it tonight at 1:30 AM.
And I still need to do calculus studying for the quiz in discussion tomorrow.

Thesis
“Liberal arts courses and the general education they supposedly instill in university students constitute nothing more than a blind system built on the notion of ‘learning for learning’s sake’ and represent a form of circular logic designed to erect a façade of academic achievement and generic aptitude that when held against a specialized degree amount to little more than basic trivia.”
Teach is gonna love me.
thanks for the advice! what are some good ge's to take?
Of course!
Cat I. Classical Mythology It was a good class. Then again I had prior knowledge so that probably helped…and I’m not sure if my teacher is still teaching it…sorry :/ that probably wasn’t helpful hahaha
Cat. II Japanese History I literally didn’t go to class except for the first month or so and I missed some discussions and I still would have ended up with a B/B+. I took it pass/no pass but if you go to class and read even just SOME of the material you will do awesome. Also, no papers! But because of this there is a lot of reading. I barely did any of it…lol. He makes a study guide and it really helps to prepare. I would do it the night before. There was a pre-midterm (just a small test based on material that the TAs taught), there was a midterm, and there was a final. Plus all of the discussion stuff and weekly responses to readings (I made them up and searched stuff on the internet haha).
Cat. III General Chemistry 105a Enough said…I was allowed to supplement this for a Cat. 3 GE.
Cat. IV Brains, Minds, and Machines: Topics in Neuroscience This class made me change my major to neuroscience when music didn’t work out. I thought it was really interesting so I went to all of the lectures, paid attention to answer the clicker questions right, and read the material so I ended up getting an A. I know other people had trouble but they probably didn’t put in effort until the night before.
Cat. V Classic and Contemporary Fairytales The teacher for this class was awesome and she’s an author. Their was a lot of reading but this is an Arts and Letters class so you’re expected to read and write papers. She graded the papers pretty tough so if you’re willing to kind of work harder or if you take it pass/no pass you’ll have a good time in this course. My friend took Knowledge and Imagination in Science Fiction. Just go to class, answer questions in class, have a one-on-one with the teacher so he learns who you are, read the easy to read stories and BAM! You’ve got yourself an A my friend.
Cat. VI Los Angeles and the American Dream This class was boring at times but if you get on the teacher’s good side (Ms. Mills) she will help you out. I’m not saying suck up to her but after class just go up and have a chat or ask a couple of questions and she’ll remember you. She might call on you in the lecture hall to answer a question if no one else will step up, and yes it might seem embarrassing, but just suck it up. You’ll get an A (again I didn’t really do all of the readings because they were kind of ridiculous and sometimes they were hard to understand so just take good notes in class as she’s talking) and you can probably get a great teacher recommendation from her. She made us a study guide that was pretty helpful and depending on the TA you’re discussion section might just do parts of it and then compile it which is awesome. I think my TA’s name was Laura? She was okay as a TA but just answer questions in discussion and she’s usually pretty nice.
Sorry that was so long but I wanted to make sure I really gave the classes their credit they needed and information about them that was necessary.
Taking a *quick break from studying good-for-nothing-will-never-be-relevant-in-life biology to look at OMG, SHOES! I’m seriously having a shoegasm looking at all these beauties online ahhh, seriously shortness of breath and everything.
Okay back to shit I tried learning when I was 14…aka NO, I will not remember (again) six years from now what the fuck cellular respiration or the krebs cycle is, nor will I ever give a fuck.
‘Scuse the profranity ya’ll but FUCK, you better believe I’m shitting my pants about taking my first science midterm in T minus five horas!!!
