because some people assume that if kids are vegan/vegetarian ages 1-13
once they turn 13 they will immediately want meat
but
you’d be surprised what happens when you teach a person to eat what’s good for them
and not just what society tells you is good for you
i say i’m going to let them have a choice because as their mother, i won’t be cooking meat for them and they would be too young to cook before they are 13
but trust me i won’t have my kids starving and malnourished
and when the time comes for them to make their decision
they may just decide to stay veggie

maybe before you start actually and literally, word-for-word privilege-denying, you should look up what privilege actually is
“you know nothing about me, you can’t know how much privilege i have!” is NOT a valid rebuttal like at all
if you’re white in the western world, ya got yerself some white privilege. if you’re male, you have male privilege. if you are able-bodied, you have able-bodied privilege IT IS LIKE NOT THAT HARD
and you saying you don’t have these privileges doesn’t magically make them go away! you saying you don’t have white privilege because you come from a non-white area in the western world or have lead a hard life doesn’t change the fact that on a systemic level you are awarded more privileges and more basic human rights than pocs. you saying you don’t have able-bodied privilege doesn’t change the fact that disabled bodies and disabled people on the whole are stigmatized and completely disregarded in ways that able-bodied people like yourself (should you be able-bodied and denying that privilege) have never been and probably will never be!

it’s not an insult. “privilege” is not a dirty word. it is just a fact that you should acknowledge about yourself lest you go off and oppress people with that privilege. ‘cause having privilege isn’t necessarily bad as it would pertain to a reflection on you — having privilege doesn’t make you a bad person. oppressing people with that privilege and then defending that oppression by denying your privilege exists kinda does.
