Okay, finally finished FFIV for the first time.

With DS figures, I will never be able to take the heroes’ conflict seriously. And Zeromus was that incredibly easy, was it just because everyone was at max level and doing nothing but pure attacking? Haha, and when Kain dealt the final blow, Cecil and Rydia were KO’ed. And wow, I just saved the world and I need a five-minute lecture on darkness and light?

But hey, I guess after a month of replaying the game just to perfect it and obtain all the Augments, the story became predictable and anti-climactic. Fortunately, had I played it a month ago when I was still playing it through for the first time, I would’ve been bummed that everyone’s favorite Bard was merely a temporary character. Well, Rydia and Kain are my favorites now, so all that’s left is to enjoy the post-game and finish the next two playthroughs.

Then I’ll have incentive to play FFIII and the 4 Heroes of Light!

“Please tell me all of the doors are not like that.”

—Kain’s thoughts after defeating a Trap Door in the Sealed Cave. I notice how after Edge joins the party, Kain gets a boost in wit. Win!
