Game of Thrones Season Finale Blues

Dany finished another season on a high note, which is always amazing ‘cause Dany is my homegirl yo :)

Ah John, it’s better to have loved and then got shot arrows at then to have never loved at all. I guess. Never actually encountered it in real life.

Jamie, you are too good for Cersei, Brienne & Jamie 4-Eva :P

Lord Varys at the small council meeting looking at Joffrey like “Bitch please” AMAZING. AH-MAZING :)

Yara, really is the one with balls in that family. Sorry Theon.

The Hound & Arya are going to be BFF’s. Mark my words. Signed, the person who has never read the books.

Sigh, well that was fun. Can next season start tomorrow please? :(((((

365 Film Challenge: Game of Thrones

Day 91, April 1, 2013: Season three of Game of Thrones just concluded. Can we just discuss the final two episodes? So first, you leave me crying and positively shocked by the Red Wedding, then the Season Finale is a nice, kind of slightly uplifting but unspectacular episode? WHAT? Anyway, I need the next season to start. In the meantime, I finally borrowed the book from a friend, and reading that will hopefully momentarily fill the gaping hole you left in my heart after killing basically everyone except that little asswhore named Joffrey.

Game of Thrones Season Finale

So best part of the episode definitely goes to Arya. Hands down. I can see the beast emerging

Game of Thrones Season Finale!

The only thing I will say for now about the season finale is that it was pretty much what I expected. I mean, It pretty much was a little bit of everything and everyone to show us what is coming and tie us up for next season. And to all those book readers complaining about where was this and where was that, I’ll tell you where it is, IN THE BOOKS!!!! And as the show ISN’T the books, as hard as it is for almost everyone to grasp that concept, do try to resign yourselves to the fact that the show will develop according to the SHOW’S creators and NOT the books. An this is coming from a book reader so I don’t even want to hear it. Either accept that fact already, or give up on the show because nothing they ever do will satisfy you! With that little rant over, I will say I DID enjoy the episode, and it was pretty much everything I expected, as I said before, so I wasn’t disappointed. I enjoyed it for what it was. And although the majority of shows tend to end their seasons with a bang, I have already come to expect that the ”big thing” of the season in Game of Thrones comes in the episode before the finale, and the finale sets up the different character’s storylines for next season. So all in all, a good way for season three to end, and leave us anticipating season 4.

Well that was pretty anticlimactic considering last week’s episode.

You Guuuyyyssss!!!

You guys have saved me! Thank youuuuuu ♥♥♥

So the season finale of Game of Thrones was this past Sunday and I just wanted to give my thoughts firstly before I went on to what I truly want to discuss in this post.

I LOVED IT. Honestly, when it comes to season finales of any series, my expectations as a viewer are high. Every viewer wants either closure to certain story lines, or questions answered or just an epic ending overall so that you’re excited enough to wait months and months to how a cliffhanger ends. I think the season ended on a great note, a lot of questions were answered and even more were developed. So these are some of the points/questions/things I realized in the finale/things that just shocked or surprised me

  • If Theon was taken by Stark’s men than why was Winterfell pretty much destroyed to the ground? It was something that both me and my best friend noticed and it left me slightly confused.
  • Bran, Richon, Osha and Hodor are apparently heading North of the Wall to where they believe Jon Snow to be, but what they don’t know is not only has Jon been taken captive by the wildings, but that they are heading straight first to the white walkers!
  • Jaqen H’ghar finally revealed how he was able to kill those 3 men without being caught!! I wanna be able to change my face hahaha
  • Cersei did what she could to convince Joffrey not to marry Sansa. Now my question is did she do that because she really can’t stand Sansa, or did she do it to save her from what she knows her son would subject her to?
  • What did Stannis see in the fire? is he just as delusional as Melisandre or did she really show him a future where he rules the iron throne?
  • Brienne and Jaime…now this is really weird but am I the only one sensing some sexual tension between the two? I feel like there might be a storyline there.
  • Tyrion…I feel so bad for him, he’s the only Lannister I actually like and its a shame that for being the master mind behind everything he will never get credit. I also love his relationship with Shae but I can already see bad things happening there…history repeats itself.
  • Winter is finally here! and so are the White Walkers, which means shit is about to get REAL in the 7 kingdoms. I’m actually really excited because its going to be interesting to see everyone have to deal with not only each other but with the white walkers.

Now finally on to what I wanted to talk about. Daenerys! so much happened when she went into the House of the Undying and my best friend asked me a question that really made me think: Do you believe that Dany’s moment with Drago was real? or was it just simply part of the dark magic that is in that place? and this was my answer but in a little more elaborate detail.

I believe that the rooms Dany went to were of course both in reality empty, but they all change depending on who is entering. What would be in those rooms for her, would be completely different for anyone else. I believe that both rooms were indeed ruled over by dark magic, and that they showed Dany what she desired the most. In the first room she entered, it’s the grand hall where the iron throne is, however it was covered it snow and the ceiling was off where it looked like it was destroyed and possibly burned (dragons anyone?). Than the second room was of her old tent where she would spend her time with her husband Drago, and there he was sitting along with the son that she was supposed to bore but died while trying to save him with magic. The iron throne is arguably the one thing Dany wants more than anything, as it is her birth right and she knows in her heart she can rule the 7 kingdoms to peace. Than it was obvious that she LOVED her husband as she even went as far as to use forbidden magic to try and bring him back. I’m sure she would do possibly anything in order to bring not only him back, but her child.

Now these are where my opinions get a little confusing. I believe that the room she entered with the iron throne was indeed created from her desire to rule BUT I also believe that actually might have also been revealing to her a glimpse of the future. As we saw in the end of the season, Winter has definitely come which would explain the snow, than the destruction seen can also be connected to not only her dragons but a possible war as I am sure shit is going to go down once she finally arrives at King’s Landing. Than as for the moment with her husband, we know for a fact that dark magic allowed her to create that picture perfect portrait of the life she wish she had but at the end of the day she still created it. It was a fiction of her imagination, and magic is the spark but it has no control over what we create and wanna see. It’s a catalyst but she controlled it’s outcome. You know that saying “you see an illusion only if you want to”, well to Dany that moment she had was her sense of closure and it was real enough for her to take it in and finally say goodbye and as a viewer whether or not that was “real” doesn’t matter. It was real to her and that scene meant a lot to me because of my love for her character and the pain I know she felt when she lost him.

Welp…those are just my thoughts and opinions. I love this show and it’s a show that really makes you think and that’s what I am all about, since I over analyze everything. I can’t wait for the next season, and if any of you GOT fans have any thoughts on what I mentioned please share them with me!!

Hodor

“Hodor.” -Hodor
Oh and Hodor is afraid of thunderstorms! He is such a great part if this story. Don’t deny it.

Going to write some pre-ST:Nemesis Romulan fanfiction and cook some late-night munchies while I wait for the video for Game of Thrones’s season finale to load.

I regret nothing, since I work the afternoon/evening shift tomorrow at work, so I have all night to do as I please and all morning to sleep it off.

I have never been more happy about a Game of Thrones episode until now:

  • Arya got some kind of revenge for her family (I was actually really proud of her idc idc)
  • Joffrey got put in his fucking place( kind of sad Tywin didn’t bitch slap him tho)
  • Sam and Jon made it back to the wall (not both safely but I’ll take it
  • (I was actually really surprised about this one) Jaime and Cersei got reunited! Honestly, I was quite happy idk why either
  • DAENERYS TARGARYEN IS. A FUCKING. BOSS. I LOVE HER I LOVE THAT SHES NOT A DAMN TYRANT LIKE HONESTLY IF HER AND THE STARKS WERE LIKE MAD TIGHT UGGH DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH GOOD COULD’VE WENT DOWN
  • If you haven’t noticed already I have eliminated all of the bad because just no we’re not gonna talkit just no

All in all, I think I’ll be okay.

For now of course.

Game of Thrones Season Finale Recap: Episode 2.10 – Valar Morghulis

This season has flown by so fast I can’t even believe that it’s over.  I’ve said before that this series could benefit from either longer episodes ala BBC, or a longer season.  There is so much story to tell that it’s next to impossible to cover all the bases without a storyline or two suffering.  There have been a few episodes this season that felt a little disjointed because of the break neck speed in which the writers jumped from one place to another.  Others have dragged a bit but overall, the second season was stellar and think, in the end, the writers did a bang up job.

The second season finale visited a lot of places and a lot of characters so I was thankful that they gave us an extended episode.  Given, some of that time was taken up by the especially long flashback intro, but with a show like this, I feel that was needed.  Plus, the audience could use a refresher since last week’s “Blackwater” episode only focused on the events surrounding King’s Landing.  Since we haven’t seen the bulk of the cast in two or more weeks, there was no doubt that the writers were going to squeeze in as many as they could in to the finale.  The visits may have been brief, but the impact on what’s to come was huge.
