Can I just say, I really dislike the fandom misconception that Rose "wasn't terribly clever"?

No, she might not have been highly educated. But she was anything but stupid. Hilariously outdated as her Google-fu skills might have been (something I blame more on the writers than anything), she was the only companion to research the Doctor.

Then in “End of the World”, she notices right off the lack of continental drift (something that wouldn’t exactly be on my mind if I ended up several billion years in the future), and in “World War III” the suggestions she gives the Doctor are actually remarkably smart. 

It’s not just s1 Rose, either- in the Satan Pit she’s a brilliant leader, delegating tasks to the best of ‘her’ team’s abilities and, after Doomsday, leading a task force designed to find her way back into her home universe to find the one person who would know how to fix the stars going out.

So, no. Rose wasn’t highly educated. But don’t you DARE infer that my girl was stupid.
