Zarejestruj się17 hours left to donate to save the life of an amazing trans activist in Uganda!
youcaring.comFrom Mac’s heart surgery fundraiser website:
Mac is an amazing young man.
He’s a trans activist in Uganda - a country where LGB folks — and those that are gender non conforming — experience immense discrimination and violence. While the Ugandan Parliament has been debating the Anti- Homosexuality Bill (which includes the death penalty in certain cases for homosexuality!), Mac’s served his community for the last five years, advocating for human rights, sexuality rights, and free expression of gender.
He started up a trans support group in Uganda called TRASU, which is open to any trans* or gender non-conforming person in Uganda. He has also been the coordinator at Freedom and Roam Uganda for the past five years and partnered with Sexual Minorities (Uganda), Trans Support Initiative (Uganda), SIPD-UGanda, Gender Dynamix (South Africa), Trans Bantu (Zambia), Rainbow Identity (Botswana), and Trans and Intersex Africa (South Africa).
Mac has a heart for some of the most marginalized individuals in Uganda. He even recently opened up his home to community members who were attacked at their former homes.
Mac needs to travel in India for life saving heart surgery. He has a non-cancerous tumor growing next to his heart, which is winding around the veins of his heart.
Mac’s always poured out his heart for his community. Now, lets come together to mend Mac’s heart so he can keep doing amazing work.
Please boost! Let’s come together and make sure Mac gets the medical care he needs!
Other ways you can help:
1) Send this website to your family / friends / organizations. Any amount, big or small, can help!
2) Do you know anyone that would be willing to donate airline miles? In particular, we’re looking for miles on Qatar, Emirates, and — or any other airline that flies from Uganda to New Delhi, India.
3) Do you know trans-friendly folks in New Delhi that would be willing to check in on Mac and provide accommodation for him during his non-hospital recovery?
If you’d like to help Mac out in any of the ways listed above, or would like to talk to him, please email: pridebeyondborders@gmail.com.
Please help one of my friends raise money for laser hair removal!
t.coPermanent hair removal would help with her gender dysphoria. She is a disabled trans woman waiting to get on disability.
She is hoping to raise $400 for a groupon deal to get six sessions that would normally cost $2000.
Please donate if you can. I see fundraisers all the time for trans men for binders, hysterectomies, and chest surgery. Surely you can spare some money for a trans woman in need?
edit 3/08/2013: pleased to tell everyone my friend has reached her goal!
Please help me save my cat.

Hey everyone. I’ve been super busy working, and now I’ve hit another snag.
This is my kitty. He needs some major surgery to correct urinary issues he has been having. If he doesn’t get them fixed, he will either be put down, or will die from associated complications.
For several reasons, I cannot go into debt to do this. I do not get paid enough at my job (full time) to pay for the kind of payments associated with a loan.
If you would consider donating to this, and/or reblogging, I would forever be grateful. Thank you.
If this post got 100,000 people to donate a dime, just ten cents, I could afford my surgery.
I don’t ask for help very often, but I am now. I have 60 days to raise 10,000 dollars for surgery, and I can’t do it myself. Nearly every dime I make at work goes to taking care of my wife and the bills, and I find I have more month at the end of my money. I don’t expect something for free of course, so I’m giving what incentives I can for donating.
If you donate 10 cents -one dime- I will write a haiku about your tumblr. Think I won’t write 100,000 haikus? I absolutely will.
$1 donation will get a tarot or rune reading from me, you pick. I’ll even do a follow up reading for you within 90 days. And you’ll get a haiku.
$5 donation will get tarot/rune reading for you and five of your friends. Including follow ups. I am totally prepared to do 10,000 readings. All six of you get haikus.
$10 donation gets a lovely drawing of your choice from my wonderful wife bellsandbones.tumblr.com. Plus the $5 donation package.
$20 and I will mail you a glossy print of your drawing signed by Emily and you get the $5 donation package.
Any higher than that and I will make something up on the spot + $20 donation tier asdfghjkl
I’ve seen tumblr help get fluffy chickens and disneyworld trips. This surgery could very well save my life and it will certainly save my sanity. Even a signal boost will earn my undying gratitude. I didn’t set up a kickstarter or a fundme page because I want people to be able to donate pocket change if they wish, and these sites have a $1 minimum donation usually. Like I said, 100,000 dimes will do it.
My PayPal address is ofearthandsky(at)ymail.com
Thank you for just reading this.
Edited to add: whatever money I have left over if I exceed my goal will go to charity.
Help Michael McKinney Battle Against A Rare Form of Diverticulitis!

“Two years ago, my son Michael ‘Ted E. Bear’ McKinney, formerly known as Fat Mike began experiencing severe stomach pains that required numerous trips to the Emergency Room and extended stays in the hospital.
None of the doctors could figure out what was wrong.
After being misdiagnosed for a year and a half, the doctors finally discovered that Michael was suffering from a common condition called Diverticulitis.
In a nutshell, Diverticulitis occurs when little pouches form in the colon. The pouches collect food particles and bacteria that cause infection and/or lead to cancer.
If you know my son, you know that he can be over the top. His condition is no different.
Michael’s particular case of DV is considered to be a rare and extremely painful form. Most people undergo surgery to remove only a portion of the intestine.
Michael’s entire intestine however, is lined with these pouches. This means, it is not a question of if he will get another infection, it’s a question of when.
Because of the symptoms of his illness and the side effects of over 20 medications, Michael cannot work. With his unemployment insurance exhausted and social services limited to medical insurance and food stamps, Michael finds himself in constant financial need. He is fortunate to have health insurance, but there are days when he faces the humiliation of not having enough for a $3 copayment or $5 for a metro card for travel to one of his 4 to 5 weekly doctor appointments. . Even the foods that make up his special diet are very costly.
Michael says he knows this is not a sexy disease like heart disease. Joking is his way of coping with his illness. But that doesn’t mean DV is any less restrictive or life threatening.
We are here today to ask for your help in assisting our family in raising funds for DV awareness and to help keep Michael afloat until he is capable of managing his condition.
We hope you can help us reach our goal.”
Please help Michael reach his goal of $5,500!
