Freud links the teeth

S H Davidson - Freud Links The Teeth And The Heart.

I haven’t posted any music in AGES, so I thought that I would post this in celebration of the announcement of the new Tellison album AT LAST. Seriously, it feels like I’ve been waiting forever. But then, not as long as we’ve been waiting for Stephen’s solo album to appear. It was planned and had songs and artwork and everything and then just disappeared. This was one of the songs that I thought would be on it, but I guess it’s a Tellison song now. I’m really curious to see what they’ve done with it.

Tellison are amazing live, but S H Davidson solo shows are something else. Probably the quietest, most incredibly intimate show I have ever seen was him playing solo. He did this song and New York and covered The Hypnotist’s Son, which is my favourite Emmy The Great song, but forgot the words so Sarah “Line & A Dot/One Toy Sarah” Rivera had to help him out. It was perfect.

But yes, I love this recording and I listen to it a lot. Back to work with me now.

“well, that’s a start. hurt when i broke my heart.”

Tellison

“she says to me ‘please, take care of your teeth’ and I said to her ‘please, take care of my heart. ‘cause my teeth are breaking, but my heart is aching for you…”

Tellison

‘We’re glad and happy to be here, I hope you are too. This song is about being in love and being neither of those things.”

I saw Tellison last night with Tom. They were good and played this song.

“she says to me please take care of your teeth and i say to her please take care of my heart cos' my teeth are breaking but my heart is aching for you”

—a lovely chorus from a lovely song.

“She says to me: "Please take care of your teeth" And I say to her: "Please take care of my heart" Cause my teeth are breaking but my heart is aching for you.”

—Tellison - Freud Links The Teeth And The Heart

She says to me “please take care of your teeth”,
and I say to her “please take care of my heart”
‘cause my teeth are breaking but my heart is aching for you.

when you love a line in a song even though you kinda disagree with what it's implying.

Tellison’s Tell It To Thebes

There was this girl that I knew, she said, ‘I think I love you,’

and we laid on the books on her bed.

And she says to me, ‘Words can be neat,

yeah, but words aren’t concrete,

and the things that you build from them probably won’t last for that long.’

the way he sings it is almost immobilizing.

just like this line from their song Letters From Pre-Med

Now I don’t know where the truth is.

Scared that I’ve acted like an idiot.

Wrote my name on your arm,

watched you wash it of girl.

Got the shot-gun heart,

can’t hit the fucking target.

Lost in the supermarket,

lost cause I know that you’re in love with someone else now

and it probably isn’t me.

and then in Edith

I believe in love, but not every day.

I just really love this band, okay? leave me alone.
