Didn’t know this flat has this spot. Sure, that window has always been there but never I have seen it give glow the way it did this first morning of June.

Could be the time of the year that the sunlight is able to pass to this direction (this building is surrounded by other structures). Very momentarily though. And I probably will only get to see it once a week. Really craving for natural [ambient] lighting. Here are the settings.

    • First photo - ISO1250, 4300K, 1/80, f1.8; the reflection was ‘caused by the UV filter
    • Second photo - ISO500, 4300K, 1/40, f1.8

I wanted to experiment further (I call this low-keyish, he he) but I was cooking something while taking these photos. (Ha ha. And I actually sniffed the camera for the hint of onion and garlic). But I did try with other subjects. Well, this was in the kitchen, so I photographed whatever I could grab.

Podda Classico, from cheese maker Ferrucio Podda, in Sardinia, is a mixed-milked “classico misto” cheese made with pasteurized sheep and cow’s milk.

With a distinctive grooved rind and flying saucer shape, the firm, ivory paste is slightly open and breaks easily into crumbly shards.  Rich, sweet, nutty and sharp with briny and grassy flavors and lanolin and fruity notes. Wonderful on its own or grated over pasta as an alternative to Parmagiano.

    Purchased at Murrays.

Ah, an easy lunch in Paris. I love the amount of cheese Parisians eat.

    Stockholm, Sweden

I didn’t spend that many days in Stockholm, but on one of the days, we went to a small cafe in Gamla Stan. Not traditional Swedish food for sure, but really good food, and an enormous cup of coffee.

    A Saturday-kind-of lunch. I had a hearty meal… 5 hours ago.

Irish breakfast tea. Strawberries sprinkled with Stevia. A Kashi oatmeal dark chocolate chip cookie/biscuit with a nice shmear of creamy almond chocolate from Trader Joe’s.

And the pièce de résistance is lemon sour cream.

Use the best sour cream that you can find, the thicker, the better, and add a little fresh lemon juice. I found this recipe in ‘Sunset’ magazine. I didn’t add extra sugar, though, because there’s Stevia on the strawberries.

Make this. It looks really expensive, but it wasn’t. :D
