I was a lacto-ovo vegetarian for 21 years (from the womb ‘til a couple years ago). I started eating fish about 2 years ago and then just this past month, started eating chicken. I still refuse to eat pigs or cows. It’s just a personal choice… not saying everyone else should follow suit!

So I know what it’s like to hunt for the meat-free items on a menu or in the grocery store. It can be tough, but if that’s genuinely what you believe in, it’s worth it! I didn’t do it to lose weight, it was simply how I was raised (my mom has been a vegetarian since she was a child, after seeing her grandfather slaughter animals on his farm one day). So I was literally a vegetarian in the womb. =) It has become increasingly easier to find amazing tasting vegetarian options... so if that is something you’re leaning toward, don’t stress about feeling deprived. =)

Channa Serenity is a Raw Vegan athlete! (Girl in the photo). For those of you who do or want to follow that kind of lifestyle, she would be a good person to “follow”.

    Gettin' fit

    Just a quick intro post:

I live in southwest Michigan and I turn 32 in August.  I’m looking to lose weight and get in shape and I thought that following other fitblrs will be motivational and inspirational.

Currently using MyFitnessPal online and my iPhone as well as RunMeter app on iPhone.

I started out at 210 and have lost 8 pounds so far.  I would like to reach 130-135 but will be happy at 140.  I’m short (just shy of 5’2”)and last time I lost weight I was around 148 and got stuck and lost motivation.

My job is a sedentary one where I’m usually glued to my desk for 8-10 hours at a time.  So I plan on walking outdoors on my breaks and getting back to running 3-4 miles a day (what I was doing at my lowest weight).

Feel free to follow and if I am fortunate to find some folk my age on Tumblr (harhar) I will follow too!

I can't decide which one I like more...

    Sore muscles from working out.

Or bruises from grappling. It’s totally normal to feel happy about bruises… Right?

    good morning, beautiful.

Yesterday I basically was stuck in a cloud of depression. It was a really unfamiliar feeling to me, and I didn’t like it at all. I basically ate like shit, but we are all going to do that sometimes. I still came home and ran 2 miles after work. Unfortunately when it’s dark outside I don’t really like doing the whole walk/run/walk/run sequence for long periods of times because i’m usually terrified. So I just run as long as I can go, at a decent pace. I’m starting today eating right and getting back on track after the day of hell. My head is clear again, and i’m smiling and being normal. Thank god. I was hoping that feeling wouldn’t last long. I work 10:30am-7pm, and even though today is sunday and a day of rest…I’m still running when I get home. Hopefully I get out of work early.

I hope you all have a lovely day, remember that you’re beautiful and you can do whatever you set your mind to! <3 xoxo

Today I weigh 113 pounds. ❤ Really excited and proud of my progress. Just in time for June! (: From this point on I’m going to try maintaining this weight and toning up a bit more. Thank you everyone who has encouraged me these last few months!!

    Hello Fitblr world!

I’m new at this so please be patient! Right now I guess I’m looking for fitblrs to follow!

I believe in losing weight in a healthy way

I believe in taking care of your insides as well as your outsides

I believe in becoming the best version of yourself, not a narrow cookie-cutter look of what “beauty” should look like.

Yes, yes sounds cheesy, but it’s worked for me so far.
