Evoque Fashion Award

[By Niccolò Montanari]

The Evoque Fashion Award is nearly coming to an end. Just in case you have not heard of it yet [and if you are a fashion designer you really should have], this award has brought upcoming labels and the webwide audience in direct contact, giving people the chance to vote for their favourite collection. Why? Well, the winner[s] will be given the chance, amongst other things, to produce their collections, distribute them worldwide and participate in catwalk shows. This is my personal pick, though you should check out all the labels and make up your own mind. You have until May 15h!

Flirting in pink and pretty patterns too
Delicate lace and ribbons of Autumnal hue
Falling leaves tumble and frolic in the air
Like all the colours of your Darling red hair

My Darling girl what a vision you are
Daintly skipping like a ballerina star
Colours of Autumn cannot possibly compare
To your pretty dresses and your pretty red hair

Here’s the campaign FW 2011 of the emergent label Darling who just received the “Women’s wear brand of the year” award at the UK’s Fashion Award 2011.

Ultra feminine, vintage inspired and quintessentially ‘English’, Darling’s unique brand identity is behind the success and popularity. But it’s not all about the English Vintage Looks, subtle design details in the clothing highlight an independent edge that is valued by the Darling retail network and worn with personal passion by the women who eagerly await each season’s new approach and exciting range. Darling offers affordable luxury product with an emphasis on quality and attention to detail.

Fashion Icon Award 2011

Lady Gaga won the Fashion Icon Award at the CFDA Fashion Awards this week.  I am not judging, but just wondering if she deserved to be considered a fashion icon.  Here is what Apparel Search thinks of a fashion icon.  What is your opinion?

I win the Fashion award on my classnight
