The Smartest man in Politics?

rss.cnn.com

If you don’t know who he is, his name is Fareed Zakaria. I am not the smartest guy in the world, but I will tell you that he isn’t smartest tool in the shed, but I will follow what he has to say then most of this ridiculous news we get shoved down our throat. Here is some podcasts of full videos for your viewing pleasure.

“BY 2013, China is projected to overtake the US as the leading publisher of scientific research.”

@FareedZakaria

China has 4x as many people, but given their low GDP per capita this is still surprising. One has to wonder if our country has the right incentives in place.

“Fareed, if you have a keen intellect, do not write black marks against anyone else. Within your own collar, put your head [Ego] down, and look. ||6|| ”

—Bhagat Fareed Ji, Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji.

“Generations from now, when historians write about these times, they might note that, in the early decades of the twenty-first century, the United States succeeded in its great and historic mission - it globalized the world. But along the way, they might write, it forgot to globalize itself.”

A discussion of leadership

globalpublicsquare.blogs.cnn.com

In this post, you can see the maintenance of my serious crush on Fareed.

As the New Year approaches, I am deciding if I want to continue to be a “blogger” are cut myself off once I return home.

I am having fun using this as a forum to post interesting news articles, rant a bit about civil society, and get some general angst out.  I’ve realized I’m not really a fan of “personal” posts.

Since I expect nearly noone but my few (much adored) followers is reading this (not even my mom, I asked), there really is no reason to quit?  Right?  It’s like an online diary!  Or something!  Wait, was that the original purpose of blogs?

“eaenee loeinee dhaekhadhiaa kaethee chal gee || These eyes have seen a great many leave. fareedhaa lokaa(n) aapo aapanee mai aapanee pee ||94|| Fareed, the people have their fate, and I have mine. ||94||”

—let people do what they do
it has nothing to do with you
you have your own fate and they have theirs
don’t worry about their lessons, worry about your own
because only their karma will teach them right from wrong
and only when they are hurt will they realize the hurt of others
until then, spread your wings and fly. be yourself and do your own thing.
there is so much in your own path to fix and think about
and above all, so much more you can smile for :). shukar hai.

Poetry of the Sufi Variety

Sometimes i wish more people in life shared my love for & understood qawwali, sufiana kalaam and poetry. It is so deep and showcases both extremes of human emotion, if only more individuals related to it!

Andhero ke fareb...!!

Kagaz pe likhkar jhooti kahaniya,
Muskrati hai ye roothi bechainiya,
Gungunati hai ye sooni khamosiya,
Fir yaad aati hai purani madhosiya..

Yehi zindgi hai meri yehi znindgi..

Neend aa jayegi mujhe maana hai maine„
paraye se khwab ko pahchana hai maine..
Bahut door bahut door jaana hai mujhe„
Kya khabar kab laut ke aana hai mujhe..

Yehi zindgi hai meri yehi zindgi..

Tu meri khatir ya mai tere vaaste,
Tere apne raaste mere apne raaste..
Mere haath khali rah gaye roshni baantate..
Ye fareb andhero ke hum nahi the jaante..

Ab bas Yehi zindgi hai meri..
Ab bas yehi zindgi hai meri..
