Eye Color List

obsidianbookshelf.com

Here at Obsidianbookshelf.com, I’ve listed the color terms alphabetically within the main categories of   Black, Blue, Brown, Gray, Green, Hazel, and Violet.  Within each basic color term I’ve listed alphabetical words for that color:  Black – anthracite.  Just so you know, I’ve identified the clichés (those terms used so often that they’ve become worn out).

I’ll also tell you about word usage:  some terms can sound too literal, some inadequate, and some too grandiose.  All this is just my opinion:  you are the final judge of what you want to do.

Very useful! Notes the clichés and the different shades of an eye colour! Just thought it might be useful for writers out there! Also, this too, by him, Val Kovalin.

Eye Color-

Hi, pals!

Almost every time I look in my message box, I have new questions asking what color eye makeup would compliment their eye color best, so I’m here to tell you in one simple, little post!

Blue or Gray Eyes: bronze, copper, peach, pink, purple, silver
Brown Eyes: green, purple, gold, blue, dark bronze
Green Eyes: yellow, gold, purple, burgundy, maroon
Hazel Eyes: gold, bronze, green, warm browns
Black Eyes: everything!

Tip for all eye colors: Using shadows darker than your eye color will create a contrast, helping your eyes to “pop”!

BUT, like most rules, these can be broken! ;) Try out different colors and shades to find what works best for you! As you can see by my blog, I like to wear everything, whether it’s complimentary or not! :)

But people of color don't have [x] color eyes/ [x] color hair!

Really now?

Since people keep resorting to this shitty argument, I have compiled some pictures to prove everyone who uses it wrong.

DNA technique reveals ancient hair and eye color

image

Researchers have discovered that a new method of establishing hair and eye color from modern forensic samples can also do the same for ancient human remains.

Using the HIrisPlex DNA analysis system, they say, a team of researchers from Poland and the Netherlands has been able to reconstruct hair and eye color from teeth up to 800 years old. The system looks at 24 DNA polymorphisms, ornaturally occurring variations, which can be used to predict eye and hair colour.

They had already tried out the technique on the remains of the Polish general Wladyslaw Sikorski (1881 to 1943) confirming his blue eyes and blond hair. Now, though, they say that the system’s accurate enough to work on older and more degraded samples from human remains such as teeth and bones. Read more.
