Tigers are my favorite animal, and have been for as long as I can remember. In light of the whole ugly situation in Ohio, I've been doing a little research. What I found literally made me cry. I knew tigers were endangered, but I had no idea it was this bad. Three subspecies of tigers have gone extinct in the past 70 years due to poaching and habitat destruction. All of the remaining six subspecies are either endangered or critically endangered. Supposedly only about 3,200 tigers still exist in the wild, and the rest in captivity in an attempt to preserve their numbers. It just breaks my heart to see this happening to such innocent creatures.
