“Alber Elbaz is possibly the most charming man alive—and of course, one of the most talented designers of his generation. I bought this dress on sale at Linda Dresner, a boutique on Park Avenue that unfortunately no longer exists. It was such an elegant store—and I had the most incredible luck at its sales. To me, this is the perfect black cocktail dress. It’s so classic and timeless and chic. It’s my go-to piece for parties or weddings. The pearl-and-ribbon necklace was a birthday gift from my husband. I would never have thought to buy it in burgundy, but I love the way it pops against black. The grosgrain and pearl bracelet was also a gift. I wouldn’t wear the necklace and the bracelet together, but I like each on their own. And the mask is a souvenir from the Halloween party Alber hosted in celebration of Lanvin’s New York boutique opening.”
