“I painted her because she was shining too brightly in my mind and I needed to preserve the glow. Once the painting was done and I took a first look at it, I immediately felt like I had put her behind colorful bars which did not suit her unfathomable delicacy. Therefore I threw the painting away. I did not destroy it. I simply never looked at it again.”
